what if we had a frugal village summit...
And nobody came!
I was just thinking how great it would be if we really all did live in the same village. You all have so many skills I want to learn, crochet and knitting, sewing, baking, house keeping, etc.
I thought it would be great if we had an FV summit, like a conference at a hotel with three days of seminars, etc. Then I got laughing to myself...we are all too cheap to spend the money on a conference when we can get info free on the internet!
Still, I would have lost more weight by now if peanut, forHISglory,QM and the rest of the crew from the pound per week challenge could knock on my door every day and say its time to excercise, no excuses, let's go!!!
You are all the best. I love you and my husband loves you too!

That would definitely be something else, if we could all get together.
I love to hear about when one or two villagers are able to get together. I can't imagine if ALL of us were togther!

We could have mini frugal village gatherings in our own areas.

Super!
Why couldn't we have mini summits. For instance they could be within a days driving distance. I would definately save for this. Think I would get my money back ten fold with all I would learn.
The trick would be to see who is interested in different areas.
Sara..what do you think?

It's a great idea, though I'm too cheap for something like that.
But I will wait for the end of the world, and then since we're all connected, we could all move together into frugal villages in our countries, and frugally attempt to survive.
But no cults & cult-leaders or I'm outa there....!!!

We would have a wonderful time for sure. Let me know when you plan a trip to Hawaii!!

Well, you are all welcome at my place, BYOT (bring your own tent!)
We'd have to start on a Sunday, because that's the day of the Flea market right near my house (starts at dawn, parking lot is packed by 6 AM!) We could pool our money for the $30 seller fee, and then sell some of our junk to pay for the gas and travelling expenses for everyone.
Followed by a get to know you swap meet with the things we didn't sell.
Maybe a couple of seminars (topics anyone?) sitting around our fire pit, and a pot luck lunch (and coupon/recipie swap). Then talent sharing session in the afternoon (could also be a craft swap). All I need is a kitchen larger than 5 x7! Of course....the fair grounds are right down the street. Oh my, this may actually be possible but I have no idea of the expenses.
Anything is possible.

If you want to plan something like this, see if you can't find a way to use meetup.com to help? It's free. You can set up groups locally, although I despair about getting a New England get together, as folks here in the NE don't seem to want to do much regional stuff. (See the forums to see what I mean.)
