Default Getting my Test Results & Feeling Nervous

I got an appt today at 3:45 for the results of a sonogram that they took of my swollen leg on Monday. They said it's probably a blood clot, but my regular MD hinted that it might be cancer because of the uterine cancer I had in 07. He said that since it was in the pelvic area and blood flows down into the legs, it "might" just be.

My hubby and kids keep telling me everything's fine, and I know they're probably right, but a big part of me feels like crying because I'm scared.

What's keeping me optimistic is my oncologist appt was in March, and my tumor count numbers were still good. I also have strong faith in Jehovah, and that of course always helps.

Sorry for un-loading. I usually don't because so many people have enough troubles of their own, but I just felt like talking about it. So thanks for listening!!

Sending up a prayer for you, it must be really scarey.
DH had a lump a in his leg a couple months ago, had the tests, and it came back as a blood clot, as I hope your tests will say.

If it makes you feel any better , cancer metastasis usually occurs on the path that blood returns to the heart - opposite of what you are describing.

Well it was blood clots after all. It's seems so crazy to be reporting that, as if it was good news or something, but it WAS good news. lol! It means being on coumadin and blood tests every week, then every two, until they can get my levels stabilized. I can deal with that. I also have to wear compression thigh highs. I almost fell over at the $85 price tag on those, but I also have venous (sp?) ulcer on that same leg, and the stockings will help that heal also. My regular MD kept putting me on antibiotics for it with no results for 3 months. My poor hubby blames himself for not following his gut to bring me to a vascular dr. sooner. He's such a good man that way But it's all going to be OK now, and we're all breathing sighs of relief!

Thank you for all your kind words. You guys really made me feel better It's so good to have all that behind me!!

Happy to hear that it is only blood clots. I agree that it sounds crazy to say that but it sure beats it being the big C. Follow doctors orders and take care of yourself and let your hubby pamper you till you are better. Best of luck and my prayers are with you.

    Hey Mammia,
If that wound on your leg is not SIGNIFICANTLY better in 2-3 weeks, INSIST on being seen by a wound specialist. My DD#1 is an RN and a wound specialist nurse, and I am an RN and this is nothing to fool around with!!! Early treatment by someone who deals with wounds on a regular basis will lead to faster, better healing, and really impact your quality of life.

Are you diabetic?? If so, your diabetes doctor needs to know about this too. Good luck!!
