Walmart packageing
Anybody notice that walmart has redesigned the packaging of GV products. Everything is in an all white wrap now. Although it makes it easier to spot on the shelf it also makes it easier to spot in your cart. And in my opinion makes the food look more generic then ever. In fact I think it looks like army surplus or government handouts.
Nothing wrong with it, I just don't see how that's suppose to entice any one to buy it.Not sure what was wrong with the old packaging.
Anyway I almost never go to walmart and couldnt' help but notice it.
On a side note, I also noticed some NEON swim trunks. WOW, those took me back to the 80"S. Are the 80's in now?

I can't stand the new design either. it looks terrible.I don't know why they switched to this look either. in my opinion I think it would make some kinds of people not want to buy it.

I totally agree....if they hope to sell it by the appearance, i don't think this will help.....

I don't like it either . . . makes everything look so blah and so generic. I don't know why they have to make everything look the same.

I don't mind it. It seems easier to find the Great Value brand now -- it stands out more. I'm sure if Walmart's sales drop on their brand items, they will change the packaging again.

I noticed that Target is doing the same thing with their line of product.
Nana to Logan, Ryver, Robbie, Grant and Dennis
Baby Step 1: Done
Baby Step 2: $8350 to go

I would rather deal with the blah packages and keep the prices down. If they did fancier packaging price would be higher im sure.

They probably redesigned in order to cut costs. It's dual color now, rather than the fancy packaging they used to have. White is easy, and blue with sometimes black writing. That's it, easy peasy - cheap! LOL
As for the 80's, they are more in now than they were in the 80's!
I remember my mom saying when I was a teenager that she should have saved all her bell bottoms and denim jackets, they were all the rage. Now I feel the same about my tiffany skirts and new kid hats! LOL

I had wondered if the new packaging was to save money on the colored paper wrapping or whatever dyes they used previously. I also wonder if it goes deeper than that and they're trying to make people buy the more brightly-colored, eye-catching, pricier brands. I try not to be a conspiracy theorist, but they do still make money either way, so whatever.
I don't really care whether other shoppers switch to the more expensive brands because of the admittedly less appealing appearance of the new packaging; I generally dump the foodstuffs into my own containers anyway and it sure doesn't look any different in my canisters!

I like it. The kids can spot it easier and I can send all 3 down the row picking up stuff. It makes my shopping much faster and I have less fighting if I can get the kids going like that.

As long as it's cheap, I don't care how they package it.

I asked a sales person at Wally World she said it was more environmentally friendly and cheaper. They are trying to cut cost and pass on the savings to the customers.
