Default Why would you buy that?

Have you even seen something in a store and wonder "why would you buy that?" I was at Target the other day and saw a cd/dvd case that could be locked. I suppose this is a good idea except you could very easily pick up the locked box and put it in your briefcase and walk away. Plus a hammer would easily open the lock.

What you have seen in the stores and wonder why you would buy it. I am interested to see what you guys think.

Well maybe its for things you dont want your kids to see? R movies? Porn? The kids would have to destroy the box to see the movie and then they would be busted. Just a guess .

Pre-made PB & J sandwiches. Who buys those? I mean, I am lazy and I like my convenience foods, but that is just sheer craziness. Is it really that hard to make Peanut Butter and jelly?

I can think of two reasons. One they keep in the freezer and are ready to grab and go. So i keep an emergency box for mornings I am running late and have no other plan for the lunch box.
Reason number two, my daughter was introduced to them at school , she asked for them because she likes lots of jelly but with the regular sandwich the jelly always squeezes out the back side and gets on her clothes she also likes that they don't have a crust.

With that said I only buy the generic ones at Aldis, they cost a lot less and they are a rare treat. I would say I buy maybe three boxes in an entire school year.

I think one man's wackiness is another man's life saver.

That said.. Shoes that light up in the heel with LEDs.. for grown ups???

I can see it for toddlers or kids, easier to find them in the park after dark.. but for adults.. why?

I bought them the winter when Zac was in Iraq and Wesley was constantly on his nebulizer. It made meals really quick and easy between the nebulizer treatments. It also meant that between nebulizer treatments, I didn't have to worry about meal prep and instead could be doing something enjoyable with Wesley if he was feeling up to it. They were bought on sale with coupons though!

I used to seriously question the sanity of people who bought spendy purses...but I am drooling over a Kate Spade purse right now. Sigh.

Tea for one - the kind with the one cup pot and the cup. Either make it in the cup, with a tea bag, or get a permanent infuser that rinses out easily for loose leaf tea. Why would I want to wash a teapot for one cup of tea? And they're usually pretty expensive.

I was in line behind someone in Walmart the other day who was buying those! I can't imagine.

Just a note re: pb&j. I just buy a loaf of bread, pb, and jelly, and I make a bunch in one sitting. Just take half the loaf and spread pb on it; half the loaf and spread jelly; join; pop into sandwich bags; freeze. They freeze beautifully, thaw in minutes, and taste very fresh when you eat them. Nice way to "customize" your sandwich, rather than relying on storebought.

I love going through kitchen gadget stores, but there are some things in there that just make me roll my eyes and wonder just how lazy some people are.

The better to see your inner child? Actually, I, too, have seen runners with those shoes, and on my road (country = no street lights), the little flashes REALLY jump out at you, especially if it is just pre-dusk and you don't have your headlights on yet.

well some question my sanity for buying freezer pb&j while i question ones sanity in buying microwave popcorn. It's WAY more expensive and it's like styrofoam. Tastes bad, smells bad and it's bad for you, I don't get it?

Don't submit your PB&J recipe madhen......it is all wrong. You have to have butter underneath, both slices,........then PB on BOTH slices......and thick jam on ONE! Now you have a good PB&J!!

Or if you have a roommate that might not steal the whole case but this would stop the 'borrowing' of CD's.

I buy microwave popcorn by the COSTCO CASE........love it. Course melted butter helps it out..........YUM! All my friends love my popcorn....but they call it 'the heart attack in a bag".......

I see a lot of things that they sell in stores that has me wondering why in the world someone would want to buy something like that. Mr Clean Magic Eraser, Swiffer Dusters, etc... basically anything that makes life easier for SAHMs.

But then I got to thinking, shouldn't life be simple for SAHMs or SAHDs?

I imagine that if your life is so crazy hectic that you need these conveniences, then perhaps you could get away with something that you could do on your own with a little forethought. Emergencies happen though and things change in an instant.
