Leaves Changing Already..
I was walking to the bus stop earlier when i noticed chestnuts (conkers to me) on the ground big ones not little ones. When i looked into the tree i saw that most of the leaves were turning brown already - its only August and I know we have had a rubbish summer but this is England so it is common.
It was nice the begining of July for a week then until the other day it has been dull, grey and raining. One day of nice weather then its gone horrible again.
Anyway, i think Autumn / Fall is on the way early this year.
Has anyone else notice the changes going on in your area?
What do you do to prepare for this time of year?Kelly & DH Alex ♥

BC - do your leaves turn red, orange and gold too - or just brown?
the changing of our seasons is really subtle - but definitely happens - flowers change, the air smells different - but we still run around in summer clothes - sometimes adding a sweater if it gets cooler. Love hearing about fall around the world - still one of my favorite seasons!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I LOVE fall. I get so excited when the leaves start to change. I do some decorating and I start thinking about cool weather recipes. I also do a big declutter, because fall makes me start to want to nest. I have to fight it.

it depends what tree it is, where i park in town for work all the trees in that area mostly go gold / yellow a few brown - i dont see many red ones about but i like to walk thru the park when they have all fallen
i love the sounds they make when you walk thru them the crunching - makes me feel like i'm 5 again when you see a big pile and kick it. lol.Kelly & DH Alex ♥

I definitely think fall is in upstate NY. I have seen some leaves changing and the leaves on my burning bush are starting to go toward red. I hear the fall crickets during the day and the bluejays have their fall call. We try to clean up the garden, buy pellets for our pellet stoves, clean the furnace and put a new filter in that. We also like to trim a birch tree that is near our porch. It has grown immensely this year and it really needs trimming this fall.

I seen a few leaves this morning on a nearby tree a little red around the edges.

I LOVE fall. Our weather is starting to change slowly and I'm loving every minute of it. This is my favorite time of the year.

I am so JEALOUS! I expect another 5-6 weeks of hot. To prepare for this time of year? Here, just keep those ice trays full!
We don't seem to have much fall to speak of, or spring. Not very defined seasons here. Winter is rarely very cold, but summer begins early and drags on apparently forever. It's only getting up to around 90 every day, but feels hotter, and that should persist for a while yet if the weather is normal.Donna

Dh and I were just talking on Thursday about how the leaves are starting to change so early here in WV. We have had so much rain that we should have a beautiful fall unless we get an early freeze.
I am preparing for my winter lay off. Labor Day is my last full time day and then I do weekends until the end of October. Then I'm off work until April 1.
I am trying to get my stockpile built back up for winter.

Haven't noticed the trees changing yet. But they will. Usually starts in middle of September. One thing good about fall is the humidity stops. I am hoping to take a short scenic trip to see all the beautiful fall folliage.

Haven't seen any changing leaves yet but the smell of fall is definitely in the air. Winter will be coming soon.

We are far up in Michigan (parts of Canada are south of us) and it has also been unseasonably cool, rainy, and overcast here, this summer.
That's been good with me, I am not fond of summer and it's heat and humidity. 3 showers a day, and always bad hair days, lol!
We are starting to see a bit of yellow on a few leaves here. I love Autumn. My fav season.

i went apple picking in my neighbours orchard earlier - they are dropping from the trees a few weeks early too. got myself some more plums too.
i hope too that we dont have early freeze as last year was below freezing most days and its normally about 8-10C in the day but some days last winter went to -12C now thats cold when you are not used to it. lolKelly & DH Alex ♥
