Default It's the first day of school.........

and my baby girl is a SENIOR! How does time go by so fast? I swear yesterday she was getting ready to start kindergarten and this morning she's going off for her senior year. It's so sad! I don't want my kids to grow up and move away!

My baby boy is in 8th grade this year. He's grown so much this summer that he's now 5'11" and looks like a young man, not a boy anymore.

    OMG............I'm OLD!!!!

Today I'm making lunch for the people I work with. It's the birthday of the girl I work with so I'm taking up baked spaghetti and brownies.

    Have a great day everyone!

I found the first one to be the hardest (although it could have something to do with DD2 being high maintenance!). Mine are both off to college within the next couple weeks, oldest is in her second year and youngest just starting. Last year I tried really hard to hold it together and it was hard when the first one left. I must admit though I'm kind of looking forward to it this year. However hard it was to let DD1 go, her transformation in that first year was unbelievable. She left our house as a teenager and came back a young woman. It's almost kind of like when they're toddlers and develop into their own little personality - it's just another year of really growing into who they are and it was such a joy to see. The years do go by soooo fast though!

Just because your kids are getting old, doesn't mean you are. BTW, I know what you mean--my baby is also in the 8th grade this year. He has that deep teenage voice now and is growing peach fuzz.

I know, but yesterday I felt so darned old having a SENIOR! I told dh if the rest of my life passes as fast as these last 17 years have it won't be long until I am 80!

That changing voice thing is funny isn't it? Last night Tyler was excited about something he was telling me and acting goofy and his voice kept going up and down and kind of squeaking. I couldn't help but laugh. And he's had the peach fuzz thing going on since spring.

I am NOT looking forward to the empty nest, ever!
