have I forgotten how?
It seems I've been away from here for far too long. I just typed out a post and I now I can't find it! Could it be I've forgotten how?!

Anyhoo, I'm sure there are lots and lot of people around that won't recognize me, so I'll give a brief introduction ~ my name is Jessica and I used to be somewhat (!) active on this board (ok, very active, I guess you could say).
My husband and I are fairly frugal by nature, but we've recently decided its time to buckle down and get serious, so it seemed like as good a time as any to come back to the board for inspiration and support.
Its good to be back!~Jessica

So good to hear from you again! Guess what? We sold our home and will be moving in a few weeks! I know that you were up and down about selling your home; what have you been doing on that front?

JAMA!!!!!

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Welcome Back!
I have been back here after about a six month break. I seldom post. Mainly I just read the board. I am sure you will have many others wishing welcome back wishes.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
I figured out what I had done wrong with my first post and it just evaporated
So, to catch you guys up (if you are interested). I believe when I started my hiatus we had just decided not to move and stay put where we were for a bit. Well, we are still in that same house, we finally sold the property to which we were planning to move. We have a rental home that we've been trying to sell for ages and we just last week gave up and are putting renters back in there.
A couple came and knocked on our door about two months ago and said "hi, we want to buy your house" They are friends of our neighbors and they knew our house was on the market last year and they love our house, but they wanted to give us about $20K less than our lowest asking price. We told them thanks but no thanks.
We've decided to homeschool our oldest son (who will start 1st grade this year) and our youngest will go to preschool still, until he starts K and then we'll homeschool him as well.
We sold my Suburban and bought a (used) Honda Odyssey. The Odyssey cost more than we actually owed on the Suburban, but the monthly payment is significantly lower and allowing us to get our snowball going more rapidly. And as I stated earlier we've decided to buckle down and really get that snowball rolling.
So, in a nutshell that's been our life for the past several months. Its good to be back here. I may not be as active as I once was, but I'm really looking forward to the motivation and inspiration that I've always found here
