Default I am so SMUG I bit myself in the BUM!!

    Hi,
So I will start by apologizing and thinking I am smug on water storage and conserving water which I posted to a while ago.

I am now on day 3 of no water at my house!! I have used perfectly good drinking water to give my self, children and Hubby (he actually bathes himself) sponge baths. I have thick hair that will be turning into dread locks soon if I dont wash it properly. I am dreading that task. I did have stored water in buckets for the hurricane Bill that passed the island but I used it to water our plants and clean the porch and never refilled them......

That is where I have injured my pride, smugness, and BUM!!! I am kicking my self now as well as bringing 5gal jugs to work with me so I can fill them up again to continue the need for water in my house. Not to mention to wash dishes and flush toilets.

I do have the access to million dollar villas and my boss has suggested I go to one and have everyone take proper baths but I feel funny doing that at this time, maybe when we stink too bad I will breakdown and take the family to a villa for an hour.

Ok I am going to get back to kicking my self.

Thanks for letting me vent my dissapointment in myself.

    Your new humble friend,
    Katie
BTW DH deodorant works way better!

I have some rules for emergency preparedness too and I just broke 2 of them. Power went out - couldn't find the flashlights and when we did, the batteries were dead. We were out of new batteries.

Then I let the gas run low in our van and we had an emergency. Ds choked and went by ambulance to a hospital. He needed to be transferred to Children's for surgery, but since he could breathe, I had to go pick up ds and dh and drive to another hospital. Running dangerously low on gas - the last thing I needed to stress about at the time. I feel your pain and have learned my lesson too.

When my DH was so severely injured i was driving around on bald tires (auto maintainence standards are usually a priority w/ me.)

When our water goes out because the power is done we go to the state park. You can also tap the water heater for emergencies. I gathered rain to flush toilets many times too.

I have no water stored at all! I hope things get back to normal for you soon.

Thanks to the OP who posted about the low gas tank. I am one of those that never put gas in until the last minute. I really should rethink that.

    Thanks ladies!!

I had water when we got home last night, but it is verry verry low, if we do not have good rain this weekend we will have to order water to be delivered on Monday.

I am almost on bald tires and need to change the oil in my truck soon, This month is catch up month DH just got a steady job so I am hoping he is able to keep it because I have a LOOONG list of things that need to be caugh up on.

I was in such a zeen moment last night after my bath DH started to ask where all the money is...... HAHAHA I told him he can manage it now and what needs to be paid is written down in the check register, look for the red writing and tell me the number. He said I can continue doing what I need to do!

Agggg! Gotta get over this hump!!! But at least I will smell good!!

    Thanks again!!
