said that calimari is inexpensive?! Is it?

I do not know about the Calamari as I don't care for it. But when I saw this post I thought it might be a joke about the Food Network chefs tryiing to act frugal. I was watching Ina Garten today and she said that pork tenderloin was inexpensive. I do not think it is at all, I suppose compared to filet mignon maybe, but not in general. I think some of those chefs are just off their rocker.

I think if you made as much as Ina Garten then you'd think pork tenderloin was inexpensive too. :p I don't know where to buy calamari in my area, but in my experience seafood in general can be expensive.

I also don't know about calamari. But I do get the frozen shrimp, fish, shell fish when it is on sale. I love seafood. So I buy it when it is on sale and within my budget. I also know I am usually paying less than what a plate with the same seafood would cost at a restaurant.

I have bought it before. I love seafood. Depending where your at it can get pricey. I have bought it at $6.99 a pound, but off season can cost up to $16 bucks a pound.

Like anything else, if you live near the source and can buy it locally when it is in season, then you can get food cheap. If you live on the coast, in the summer, seafood is generally inexpensive. If you live here in the midwest and want seafood, you pay for its airline ticket. On the other hand, I think beef is cheaper (and fresher) around here than on either coast, although the mass quantities of food that supermarket chains buy can even out prices a lot.

I noticed today that boneless pork tenderloin is on sale here this week for $1.99 lb. That's the same price they sell the store brand ground beef at when it goes on sale.

A few weeks ago, I bought boneless pork loin for $1.49/lb. Pork is very cheap right now. I repackaged it to meal size portions and froze it. Right now, it is our cheapest meal option.
