grocery stores
Hi All,
I live in upstate NY, and all our "Giant Market" stores have been sold to the "Weis" chain of stores. I believe they are in Pa., Maryland, Delaware, etc.
Does anyone know anything about these Weis stores? I would be interested in learning....thanks Liz

We have weis I shop in it occasionally, it is pretty comparable to the Giant food we have down here ( our giant may be different than yours though I know the PA ones are) if there is something mire specific I could stop by one and let you know

Weis is my favorite grocery store.

There is a weekly circular on this page you can bring up to see what they have to offer.

Weis Markets was founded as Weis Pure Foods in 1912 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania by two brothers, Harry and Sigmund Weis. In addition to the Weis Markets banner, the company operates supermarkets under the King's and Mr. Z's banners. Weis Markets sells a variety of house brands like:
Big Top
Carnival
Dutch Valley
Weis Five Star
and many more.

We have Martins here.. They say they are part of the Giant chain. For me they are really expensive and the meat isn't all that hot. We go there once a year because dh's boss always gives a $50 gift card for Christmas. We figured we'd get a whole ham for Christmas and freeze part of it .
For 1/2 a ham they wanted over $50. I never even heard of the brand before so we ended up getting oddball stuff instead. JMO
