Newbie from north Florida!

Hi All - I am new here from north Florida!

How did you hear about frugal village? Came across it by accident a couple of months ago, but this is my first post.

What interests you here? My spending habits and general outlook have changed tremendously in the last year. I think this forum is more inline with who I am today.

What will you contribute? Any ideas I think would benefit the group.

Do you know any other members here? no

How many kids? Ages? One son, age 6 (almost 7).

Tell us about yourself.
My husband, son and I decided about 8 months ago to leave behind the rat race of the big city (Orlando), quit our jobs and move to a small town in north FL to build a house (w/o a mortgage) on my in-laws property. My DH used to be an IT Manager and is now building our house, starting a small farm and homeschooling our son. I am working full-time for a lot less money, but with a LOT less stress. So far, we do not regret our decision one bit:-) p.s. we are living w/the in-laws during the building process and trying to build the house from some savings and being very careful w/expenses.

Do you own any pets? 2 beagles and 25 chickens (more to come - probably cows and pigs)

Occupation? Marketing coordinator

Married or single? Married

Interests and hobbies? Making jewelry, cooking, travel, scrapbooking (but haven't done it in years). Interested in learning to make candles, soap, and how to start canning.
