Boy and wouldn't you like to know how the parents handled it at home?........and if that is the first time that he has taken something??? This is too bad.....sorry you went through it and I hope it didn't start...or CONTINUE ...a pattern that he is developing.
Have you heard any more? Or did you just let it drop?

Thank goodness for the child's honesty. Too often nowadays we hear an instant "I didn't do/take it" Unfortunately we see it in the parents also.
I'm glad this is going to work out for your and your DD. Mahalo for posting this problem - it would be good of us to be proactive in our schools. Social stories are a good way to address challenges with the little ones - we gear them toward specific challenges in the preschool. Need to get going on those again.Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

If your daughter didn't' realize it was hers, then maybe he didn't either? Kids tend to keep things they find, just like grownups do.

One thing I love about our school system is that they bill you at the end of each month for lunches! Then you can just send/mail back a check for the bill. NO money for the kiddos to keep up with! When they were smaller you could send money each day for a snack. .50 got them a popcorn or ice cream but mine only got it once a week. I also did the envelope thing. If I needed to send money for the book fair or something I would put it in an envelope and put my child's name, the teacher's name and what the money was for on it.
I'm glad they got it taken care of for you. It's sad when we work so hard for what we have only to be taken advantage of by others. Hopefully the little boy will learn a lesson from this too!S
