It is Cancer
I had said I would follow up when we knew something. Well my DH does have lung cancer. He has a 2.5 CM tumor in his left lung and 3 infected lymph nodes. He goes back to the Oncologist on tuesday and we will know treatment then. It is Squamous cell carcinoma. A type of cancer that is often found as skin cancer but he has it inside his lungs. He is very week right how and very depressed. and I am so scared. We had to let go of our new house I lost the inspection and appraisal fees but at this time our focus has to be on my husband and getting him well. Please pray that my husband will be ok. I can't bear to think about it to much or I will scream. Diane

I'm sorry that you and your family are going through this. My dh's uncle had lung cancer and had a portion removed and lived for a very long time after that.

Diane, I am so sorry to hear you both are having to go through this. Stay strong. As AmyBoz says, medicine has advanced by leaps and bounds, and they are doing incredible things. I have great hope that your DH will pull through with flying colours!

You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers. Modern medicine has come a long way. My mom survived uteran cancer, skin cancer, colon cancer, and breast cancer. None of them recurred, she lived a long time, and did not die of cancer.

I know from experience how scary it is to hear the word lung cancer. My husband was diagnosed with lung cancer three years ago. The wait to get all the test results back was agony. He had surgery to remove a portion of his lung, and other than issues with shortness of breath he's doing ok. There are a great many success stories with the treatment of lung cancer so try to think positively. Sending hugs and prayers your way!

Medicine has improved greatly but you and your husband are at the forefront of his treatment; be informed and ready with past scans, tests, etc....
From what I have learned in the past, and did incorporate into my husband's treatment was;
Get a copy of every test he has; (it is easy just request one and don't leave without it)..... Some may take a day or two but get the copy; any scan can be given to you on CD/disk; a copy of the doctor's notes from your visit, everything. There is nothing more frustrating than walking into the next doctor consultation and him/her saying I have to wait for XXX results.... which at times when you are visiting so many doctors for their opinions almost feels like a pass; it is comforting to say oh wait what document/disc haven't you received? I have a copy here..........
I literally had a rolling file box that traveled with us to every doctors visit...and saved a lot of waiting.....
Even the doctor's were impressed when I pulled out what they needed.
Go back and get copies of the test and procedures that were used to pronounce to date, it is just a call and picking up the docs.....
One final piece of advice that will be very helpful in the future; AND MOST IMPORTANT!! tape the doctor's visits.... let them know; (we used an mp3 player) all that we attended allowed us to do this it is not for any evil measure or future suit, it is because they will say so many things that go over your head...........words......medical terms......you walk out of every visit overwhelmed afraid of what they said or could of said that you only hear 1/3 of the conversation.............. when you replay it you have time to look up the terms they used, etc....and become more informed for the next visit or are able to call for clarification.....
The best patients are those that are well informed and my prayers are with you and your family at this trying time..........
Feel free to PM if you have any questions........I would happily give you any advice I may have.......or support you through your fears....I do understand...

Wow, great advice above. The only thing I can add is get the book "How to Treat and Prevent Cancer with Natural Medicine". I can get you the authors name if you can't find the book thru a search.
Keep your head up, !!
