    Default Once in a lifetime Not so frugal vacations

    This is going to be kinda long, so bear with me please.
    Last fall, my husband was involved in a motorcycle accident, he happened to have a camera running so recorded his own wreck.
    [ame="http://www.break.com/usercontent/2009/7/motorcycle-crash-830065.html"]Motorcycle crash Video@@AMEPARAM@@http://embed.break.com/830065@@AMEPARAM@@830065[/ame]

    We got the insurance settlement in May, paid off our credit cards, his new motorcycle, and some of the medical bills from the accident.

    We kept some out for ourselves, and decided we were going to take a couple of vacations.
    First vacation was to Northern California, our youngest son and his girlfriend went with us.
    Second vacation was first to Niagara Falls, then onto Amherst, Nova Scotia to meet some internet friends IRL.

    We spent a lot of money, but had decided that we needed to do something to spoil ourselves after the stress of the last year, and we knew we would probably never have the chance to do this again.

    He has some permanent injuries that he will have to live with for the rest of his life, but I am not a widow, so we feel very blessed.

    I wanted to share the pictures from our vacations, I hope you enjoy them.

    Oh Andrea -I am so sorry for your husband's accidents and the pain for both of you. How thoughtful to share vacation photos - I for one, absolutely love to see other places!! Unfortunately, I cannot access what you shared - don't know why - perhaps my machine. Hope that others can!!
    Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

    Thank you for sharing. Would you be upset or creeped out if I saved one of your pictures on m computer? I can't look at the Welcome to NS sign when we drive by it because It makes me cry. I'd love to have your photo of it on my desktop, so I can cry in private.

    Wow.... I must admit I cringed at the impact {{hugs}}. I am a rider myself and am always happy when I pull back in the yard safe. I am really happy for you both that after the year you have had you were able to have some down time for enjoyment. Frugal or not, you had the money to do it, and sometimes you just have to treat yourself!

    That would be fine, help yourself to it.

    Wow....sorry but that video is disturbing. I can not believe that the other driver, clearly larger, did not yield to the bike! I don't know about you but when I'm driving my dad's truck, I'm extra paranoid and I've only been on the back of a bike a handful of times and I'm painfully aware of how 'exposed' you are - which makes me too nervous. Especially when I see others on them - regardless if its a sport bike or cruiser.

    I'm glad your husband has recovered and you were able to go on such a great vacation. Your pictures were great!
