What in the HE!! was the man thinking?! If I had a daughter and her father did that to her?! Holy Moly! You people would know someone on death row, and I wouldn't feel guilty about it either.

That's only *IF* the story is true. She has been a drug user for several decades and it is possible she could be making this all up to sell books. Her father is dead now and he cannot defend himself. *If* this is true, I would think discussing it with a psychiatrist would be better than putting it in a book and broadcasting it all over America.

I agree with you on both counts... BUT If my father did that to me, I would probably be an addict myself (or something worse)! She said the reason she came out with it was to help other children(and probably sell the books)..

I am the eternal optimist though(I never assume people want to hurt me or lie to me, until proven otherwise)

She also said that her father started her on drugs (actually shot her up) and that her sister, Chyna, is aware of the relationship. I cannot imagine her making this up (but then again.. I'm a bit naive). Since the relationship ended a while ago (her father died in 2001 but it sounds like the relationship ended prior to that) perhaps talking about it brings to light the important for others to address it and not be afraid. A parent in an incestuous relationship has a huge amount of power over that child (whether they are a child or an adult).

I cannot imagine the inner demons she has to battle to come to terms with this.

Hearing this made both dh & I sick....dh actually met john & Michelle Phillips and Chyna(when she was 3 yrs old) - they were friends of his uncle's. Anyway, dh said he could remember on that day that John & Michelle had a horrible fight & John grabbed Chyna out of Michelle's arms & took off with her in their car(red opal GT)...he remembers seeing Michelle sitting in a rocker crying b/c of the incident.

I doubt she is making it up, she said the first time it was when she was so out of it on drugs and she didn't/couldn't put up much resistace. The really, really, really, sick part is that in time it became consenual they were having a relationship/affair and her father wanted them to run off together to a place where behaviour like that is acceptable.

Unfortunately, incestous relationships happen a lot. I believe that she probably has been through a great deal of therapy since her father's death and that is the reason that she feels comfortable enough to write about and discuss it. I cannot even imagine the emotional toll that has taken on her (obviously not discounting the physical here) to not only have your father abusing you but also talking about running away with you in a "marriage" sort of theme. How does one have normal relationships after that? I would have never assumed that she was lying. Personal experience tells me what horrible relatives lurk out there.

I seriously question her motives and whether the story is true. First, so much of her life has been spent in a drug-induced haze that she probably doesn't have the first clue what's real and what's not. And second, why wait to come out with this now...when she's trying to sell a book. Because it's SENSATIONAL and this woman is a major drama queen. We'll all have sympathy for her now, which will help sell her book. Up until now she has a seriously bad reputation and no one felt sorry for her. This changes that, doesn't it. Now she's the "victim". I think this is a very carefully planned career move on her part. As was pointed out, her father's dead and can't defend himself against these allegations.

This news doesn't change how I feel about her, didn't care much for her before and still don't. Of course, I could be wrong but that is one whopper of a story just to get attention, sell a book, or whatever. If it is just to sell something and it is not true she is one messed up person. Well, more of a messed up person that I previously thought.

I saw her on the today show talking about this. I tend to believe her. Why, well growing up two of my friends who lived across the street grew up in a really messed up family. Mom being taken to the hospital for overdoses, father who actually threatened a neighbor (with gun in hand) who was trying to get the family help. I can still remember hearing my friends screams while across the street in the backyard. One time the cops were there because the brother was ready to beat the mother. I happened to be upstairs playing with my friends at the time. By the time everything settled down I came outside to see my parents standing there waiting for me. And there were definately other things going on that I won't post.

I also am more than aware that many of the child runaways are running away from situations that Mackenzie has gone through. As she stated on the show it is a hidden and unspoken subject that people do not talk about but there are so many children and adults who are dealing with incest that it is something that needs to be talked about.

Not such a dumb career move.....and she just 'happened' to mention that she would "love" to get in to movies again.......think this will work?
