    Wink Great News!!!

I woke up today thinking this IS the day...and well it was

I was 'released' from my job today. I'm very sad that this has happened b/c my fear has come true however I am very happy to be relinquished from the torture of knowing and just waiting it out. I've known for the last 6 weeks. I'm not sure how 'ignorant' they thought I was to the clear writing on the wall but I saw it coming from day one of the changes. The only thing I can honestly say is that I was truly disappointed in the HR person who had to 'break the news' to me b/c she did such a poor job and emasculated my supposed new boss. Total castration, poor guy. Why did she even ask him to be there?

Now...back to the hunt and onto bigger and better things. At least I got shoved off of the sinking ship instead of going down with it in flames right?

I do wish the company well but deep down inside, I hope they struggle once they realize all the tiny things that I did which were not part of my official 'job description'. *evil grin* C'mon...who doesn't wish that when they're let go?

I can certainly empathize with you. I left my last job to take a contract position that didn't work out. I interviewed for my old job and didn't get it. At first I was mad, but then realized I didn't want to be back there anyway, let them see all the things I used to do that aren't getting done anymore. Found out today my old team lead got the job & I'm happy for him. Welcome to the ranks of the unemployed. It's an interesting ride.

I'm so sorry to hear that Libby, but you remind me of a cat, someone who will always land on their feet! It is good that you knew in advance and saw this coming, so it wasn't a complete shock. Wishing you the best in the job search & praying something even better comes your way quickly.

You have a great attitude and something much better will come your way. It's too bad that it was handled so poorly, it sounds like the HR person is the one who should be looking for a new job.

So sorry about the job loss Libby. I am sure that you will find something you enjoy even more soon.

Since you have a day to fill now, you should sit and write everything down that you need to do, want to do and wish to do. Organize your day as if you were at your job. It always works for me. Good luck!

Isn't there an old saying "When one door closes another door opens" All the best in your new job hunt. Maybe a couple of weeks off just to relax a bit could be nice too.

I think this is a good idea. I would want to take a breath and organize, plan, and research the possibilities.

It will open doors to other things I am sure. It did for us. My hubby was laid off in March and although he hasn't found anything yet (he's a cnc machinist) I was forced to go out and find work. I finally got a great job working with computers for a great small company. It is the ideal job for me since they are fully training me on everything I don't know, and it is in my the field in which I am working on a degree in. The owner works around any classes I have and I am even using it as my field experience for my degree program. I have 2 more classes in the spring and I am done!
