What is your daily 'uniform'?
Something that my kids have been complaining about has got me thinking.
When I was in NY in Aug. I bought (mainly out of necessity because of the heat and all the walking - I discovered that I had the wrong shoes with me) a pair of the newest Nike walking shoes (I believe that they are Nike air max pegasus).
They were expensive but for me they would be cheap at twice the price. They are like walking on cushions and I could walk to the ends of the earth and back without having pain in my feet.
My kids think I am nuts for wearing sneakers every day and most of the day. I don't care - they are comfortable and that is more important to me.
(The funny thing is that I told my kids at school this story and they have encouraged me to wear them to school because they think that their teacher is WAAAYYYY cool for wearing Nikes.)
During the time that I am home and am doing chores etc. I wear Nikes and jeans and an easy sitting shirt/polo/t-shirt.
What do you wear when at home and why?
BTW just to add - I have often been seen in sweat pants at home (clean and in good shape) must to the anoyance of dh.
What did he buy in NY - sweat pants and a matching sweater? What does he change into every night after work - you've guessed it. Comfort will do it every time. LOL.*Avril*

In summer I wear shorts and big tshirts or tanks. I am barefoot at home and I wear flip flops out in public.
At work I wear capris and either a uniform shirt(polo or button up) or a nice tshirt and tennis shoes.
In fall, winter and spring I wear my pj's at home. Flannel pants with big tshirts or sweat pants with tshirts and barefoot. I have no one to impress. Dh is used to it and to be honest it's my body and I don't care what he or my kids think about what I wear. I believe in comfort and I'm very lucky to have a dh who wants me to be comfortable!
When I go out in cooler months I wear jeans or other pants and usually a tshirt with a sweater or jacket over it. I wear my flip flops until I can't stand my toes freezing anymore and then I wear either a pair of mule thingys that are fur lined or tennis shoes.
I don't even own a pair of heels LOL! And I only wear a dress for a very very special thing like a wedding or funeral. It's just not ME!S

I work from home. So my summer uniform is shorts and t-shirt or tank top. I go barefoot around the house. When I go out any where it is sneakers or boat shoes, or sandals. My winter uniform is jeans and a t-shirt and sneakers or boat shoes.

In summer shorts and a tshirt with sandals or flip flops. I dont like to be bare foot so I wear slippers in the house in the summer but they are the flip flop style. Cooler and cold months sweats in the house with a tshirt or sweatshirt and jeans with the same kind of top if I go out with sneakers.

I wear crocs and I wouldn't care if the kids made fun of me! I used to go barefoot, but I can't anymore. The crocs are so comfortable. If I can't find them I wear flipflops.
I usually wear a dress or a skirt and tshirt. So much more comfortable than pants. I put pants on to go out though.
I usually have a scarf on my head to cover my hair, I can stand hair on my face.
Put it all together, and I basically look ridiculous.

I wear tee shirts and shorts with sneakers in the summer and sweat pants and long sleeve tee shirts in the winter around the house. If I'm going out I usually wear nice slacks or jeans with dressy tops and flat shoes. I don't own heels and never could walk gracefully in them!

I wear good Nike shoes every day at home just for the sake of my feet and I would no matter who saw them. I am truly not understanding why your kids think you are nuts for wearing them. Is it for fashion reasons? I don't get it.
Oh, my clothing varies from t-shirts and shorts (sometimes with paint stains if I'm painting) to sweats, depending on the weather.

I didn't understand it either till I was in the city a couple of weeks ago with dh and mentioned it to him. He said that he didn't care what I wore as long as I was comfortable but he did say - look around you and tell me how many ladies your age are wearing Nikes or any other type of sneaker.
I was the only one.
I think it is a European thing not to wear sneakers except in the gym.*Avril*

My office is casual, I usually wear a pair of knit/cotton pants with a comfy knit/cotton shirt or blouse. I wear tennis shoes, sandals, or hiking boot/shoes depending on the season. At home on the weekends, it's jammies and slippers.

May-"whenever it decides to get cold here"...jeans sleeveless blouses or tshirts & bare feet. I slip a pair of $5 canvas tennis shoes on if I have to go anywhere.
'Winter" -April....jeans,sweatshirts (sometimes a sweater) boots (hiking-looking boots that lace up over the ankle)

I work so I am pretty much dressed in skirt or dress everyday. On the weekend, I'll wear jeans and a sweater. I am not a sneaker person, never have been. I love a nice comfortable pair of loafers.
I think that even if a person is dressed in sweats, if their hair is done, they can look like a million bucks. My hair is thin and straight and I always have to go to a lot more trouble and time than what I want to make my hair look presentable. Sometimes if I'm not going out on Saturday or Sunday, I don't do anything with my hair and then I feel like crap all day.Be careful how you live your life, it may be the only gospel your sisters and brothers, neighbors, read.
