INVASION!!! Attack of the killer chimpunks!
So, I'm here on FV, avoiding some reading I really NEED to do this morning for a D&D game this afternoon (what can I say, I'm a nerd), and I hear Caylor screaming.
I am up like a shot to find out what's wrong and up the stairs comes our cat, Caesar running up the stairs, hot on the tail of a chipmunk!
And I watch the little rodent run into my closet. Thanks to the animals, they let us know that it had escaped into the guest bedroom, which was more empty than usual in preparation for painting and such.
After much chaos and scrambling we finally persuaded Chippy to go into a cardboard box and got him trapped, and returned him to the wild.
*sigh* We need some screen doors...If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

When I was a kid we lived in an old farmhouse. We had a family of chipmunks living in the foundation. Occasionally one would go zipping up the stairs in front of us or we'd find one sitting under the couch munching on last nights popcorn lol. They were entertaining...but we were kids. My mom didn't think them quite so entertaining lol.

Last year we slept in our MIL apt. and heard acorns rolling back and forth all the time. They didn't chew through the drywall because we have multiple cats (what can I say I"m an animal geek). I put a trap in the attic but they had plenty of food from our giant oak tree. Then I heard my neighbor say he had a few. He had trapped 16 already. He's the army type (conquer all wild life) so I told him and he went crazy trapping them. HEE HEE easiest solution for me.

Just barely. At one point to get out of being cornered the darn thing jumped onto my cheek and shoulder then headed down my back ... i screamed, Greebo laughed and the little guy got away.

Ewww! I'm sorry, that would've freaked me out too . . . even though they are cute and are probably harmless. Still, ewww!

My Mastiff's bed is on the floor next to my side of the bed and a couple weeks ago I rolled over, opened my eyes, and there was a dead soggy possum she'd brought to her bed....her latest treasure. Ewwwwww!
I'd hate to think of the field day she and our American bulldog would have chasing a chipmunk through the house!!-Suzanne

Thanks for the laugh!!! I think chipmunks are adorable. Only thing is my cat would probably just make friends with it or lie down on top of it to keep it from moving around. And she is really HEFTY!

What's in a word?
Greebo, I must say that the title of your post alarmed me!
Greebo being attacked by chimp-punks!!! (at first glance, that's what it looked like)
Wayward adolescent chimpanzees attacking Greebo!
Good thing I kept on reading.
Glad to hear that you were kind to the critters, and they are now back in the wild, where they belong.
(BTW, Canada is spelled with a capital C, on your forum greeting.)
