    Unhappy Looking for prayers tonight....sorry LONG

    Good Evening all,
    I am coming to you all requesting some much needed prayers. I just received a call from my sister to tell me that my nieces uh hum father or sperm donor, as we call him may be filing for visitation. I will keep the background as short as possible...
    7 years ago my sister got pregnant by her then boyfriend "Bob".Shortly after finiding out she left him but was never really clear why. Just before my niece was born she allowed him to be a part of her life again. As she labored he came and went, went more often than stayed though. I was with her her entire labor. At one point he left to "eat" and was seen exiting another patients room(maternity ward). She delivered and allowed him to be in thier lives until he was high one night,my mom confronted him(they were at her house) and he raised his hand to my mom. He narrowly escaped that fight(if mom didn't beat him down my bro would have) but took my sister and niece with him. Nearly a week had passed when I finally was able to speak to her at which time I found out he was holding them hostage basically..she was finally able to get her and my niece out of his house and get away. She went to court and got a restraining order and supervised visitation for my niece. I was the "supervisor" he demanded 3 visits and he showed up for only 1 this being 7 years ago!!! He requested some visitations about 4 years back after the orders expired.My sister agreed and went...he never showed rather sent his new girlfriend and thier son together and his other daughter(5 yrs older than niece) to the visits. My sister stayed so that my niece could see her sister. Over thelast 6 years he has been in and out of rehabs,addicted to drugs.He beats his current girlfriend regularly.He is not fit to have visitation of her or any of his children. He tried to hang himself in front of his oldest daughetr a few years ago.My sister and niece still see his Mom and Sister(he doesn't)regularly. His mom called her today and said his brother had spoke to Bobs oldest daughter and she said he is gathering the paperwork to file for visitation again. My sister got married last year to a WONDERFUL man who loves her and my niece like she is his own! He even wants to adopt her. Now that "Bob" knows she is happy he just wants to make her miserable all over again.
    She needs your prayers that this will not happen!! My niece does not need him in her life...he has nothing valuable to offer her. Thank you for reading this!!

    Sending prayers your way that he doesn't get visitation. Normally I feel that a child needs and should have both parents but there are some cases where that is so clearly contraindicated and this certainly sounds like one of them. Best wishes to you and your family. {{{HUG}}}

    I totally agree!!!!! Thats actually the main reason why 7 years ago I agreed to be the "visitation supervisor"!! But there are those cases!!
    Thank you again!

    Does sis have a lawyer?
    If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

    Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

    Prayers and yes she needs to get a lawyer immediately. The lawyer will do all the "dirty work", background check, and with Bob's track record a good lawyer will be able to put a stop to this. If your sister and her husband really want this to end her husband should petition to adopt your niece also. If they find a good lawyer they should be prepared to spend a lot of money unless the terms state Bob pays all costs. Custody battles of any kind are the worst, BTDT. Tell your sister not to wait for Bob to file, they need to do it first.

    What a mess. I agree that your sister needs to find a lawyer that can handle this. Hugs to you and your family.

    My sister went through this with the father of her two oldest children. He got visitation only because he thought he'd get to see my sister there too. Because of a restraining order he had to have supervised visitation and it was in a place where he did NOT get to see my sister. When he found that out, he stopped going. Not only did he not see his kids for 8 years he didn't pay his child support either. When my sister remarried and he wanted to adopt the kids my sister sent the notice to her ex to have his sign his rights over and he refused. He didn't want to see the kids, he just wanted to piss her off.

    So they went to court and had a judge terminate his rights. I think your sister should look into this option. She needs a lawyer and she needs to have him/her look into this option!

    HUGS and prayers for your family!
