    Default Keeping costs down

We had a built in bookshelf in our bedroom. It was quite deep and since we did not have a closet. Brain storm why not turn it into a closet. It cost us about $10 and we did it ourselfs and it pretty large and I am thrilled with it. We have a door that we have had for years to put on it yet but that can be done later. Now what to do with all the books. Quess it will be my pasttime when winter keeps us inside.

Good deal. Do you have enough room to put the books in the closet, or under the bed? Maybe you could build a bookcase headboard. Anyway enjoy that new closet.

That really is a great re-use! And who couldn't use an extra closet? I'm also almost positive that you brought up the value of your home too! Everything I've ever heard along the subject, is that a room can't "legally" be considered a bedroom unless it HAS a closet in it. So you might just say, that you added a bedroom to your home YAY!

So 2 thumbs up for you!!

...and yes, pics would be great

Great idea. In a former house, we had two free-standing oak book shelves in our bedroom and hubby added oak doors to all but 2 shelves at the top. We were able to store our folded items in the units (turtlenecks, sweaters, etc.). I even found some small baskets for storage items, and we were able to eliminate a dresser that was taking up way too much in this small bedroom.

I just love to think outside of the box and you just did a fine job of doing that. Enjoy your new closet.
