Default I am realllllly mad..long sorry

I found a program for free or reduced ey exam and glasses for my dh and myself. I haven't had my eyes checked in 10 years and have no clue how long it's been for dh. So Monday I called his work office and asked if he was working Friday because i could get us an appointment for that afternoon. Now mind you for the last I don't know how long, he has had at least 1/2 a day off on Fridays. His boss hit the ceiling, not because of the appontment but because I called and asked if he was working that day. Then to make matters worse we gave them a weeks notice, the one guy dh works with came up to them and told the boss, not asked but told, that he had to take his child to the dr out of town the next day and there was no problem. They shut down today and now will work tomorrow. This may seem trivial but it's not the first time. The last time was my dh hit his head on a steel beam and got a concussion and his boss didn't want to turn it in to comp. Said that they wouldn't cover it since there was no accident report done when it happened. There was nobody in the office and the boss wasn't there for two days. Who was he suppose to file it with? He did have witness' and the dr. bless him, took care of the comp people with no problems.they even called to make sure he was ok.My dh never takes off work for anythng. After his dad died they expected him back to work the same week. He tookhis own life on a Thursday. They are taking advantage of him and if he tries to say anything, the boss either tells him to shut up, walks away or starts preaching to him. This is suppose to be a family oriented, Christian business. The way I see it, it's only that way when it benefits the owner. I told dh not to put me in a situation where I have to be around this man because I can't guarantee I'll keep my mouth shut. Ok I'm done ranting and raving for now anyway. Yesterday was not a good day. This was only the tip of the iceberg.

I so know how you feel as my dh has been in the same situation and I have wanted many times to call his boss and tell him to go to h*** it is very frustrating I know but all I can say is either deal with it or have your hubby find a new job where he will be appreciated good luck with that as I am still trying to convince my dh to find a new job lol

I know. the only reason he hasn't gotten another job is that there isn't any around the area. The only place, which would be great, is only 1/2 a mile from home, but he'd take a a big cut in pay and they are just now starting to get back to work. We justhave to grin and bear it. But as you know that doesn't help much. Thankfully the eye dr understood and rescheduled. Since it is a volunteer program they say if you don't keep the initial appointment you are disqualified. Dh even told his boss this but it didn't matter. This too shall pass and we'll just do a slow simmer until it does.

Wow...I don't think I'd be able to continue working for a company that doesn't follow the law. But then again, scale it back a notch....your family needs the income right?

If I read correctly, your hubby's leaving? This may sound like burning a bridge but it also sounds like one he doesn't plan to ever cross again....maybe now call in and report the company? Is it possible to do anon?

suppose to be a family oriented, Christian business.
I've found these to rarely reflect Christ.

I'm shocked at the dishonesty with the Workmans Comp claim issue. He is more concerned about his insurance premium.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I'm afraid that there are many employers that are aware that most people would rather have a job than not, and I think some are taking advantage of the situation.

I hope your DH keeps his feelers out for another job but stays on good terms with this one for the time being.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. Really feel for you and your husband's situation. It really is difficult to get up in the morning to go to a place you really don't like the people at. Happened to me at a job, fortunately the company decided to move to another state, which meant I could look for another job.

I don't know if you have sears, jcpenny or cohens in your area. Right around now I look for coupons for eye exam $29 at cohens, and $99 no-line bifocal glasses at sears. Don't forget to ask the doctor after the eye exam for a script for lenses to take with you. That way you can look for really good sales and buy them then.

Good luck. I hope you can get the care you need soon.
