When I was in middle school I was living with my grandmother, her sister had bone cancer and we went up to see her. She looked bad, it really bothered me. It was not long after that she passed. My grandmother went to funeral, which was 2-3 hours away, and I stayed home with my brother. we lived in an upstairs apartment, but I heard a noise at the window. That night I dreamed I looked out the window and it was her. She was light up and had a flowing white gown on, she smiled and was gone. I know it was a dream but I believe it was her coming to me to let me know she was ok.

It is a long story, sorry. It is one that has meant a great deal to me. I do have more stories but this is the Happier one.

I had a boss that insisted that their house had a ghost. She said it was a girl and that the girl would move things around and it happened all of the time.

She said there were times when the family would be sitting around in the living room and she would see her. There was I think only one member of the family that never saw her when she was there. My boss insisted that you had to be open to it to see her.

I have seen spirits before, as well as had them "do" things around the house. I was 16 when my mom died, I came home from school one afternoon and she was lying on the couch. I just thought she didn't feel well, couple of minutes later she calls my name and I turned around (I was in the kitchen) and I saw her take her last breath. she died before paramedics could get there. about a year after she died I saw her standing in the kitchen just looking at me, I turned around and ran as fast as I could to my room. I was scared to death then, but now I wish that I hadn't ran away. you can still hear her walk through the house sometimes. Oct. 19th will mark the 14th anniversary of her death....doesn't seem like she has been gone that long

since my husband and I have been together we have had weird stuff happen around the house. the kids toys will play music/etc. when they are turned OFF, doors close by themselves when there isn't a draft, noises like someone shuffling notebook paper, the TV went off and came back on with no one in the room but myself and DH and our most recent one...our fridge is a side by side with ice/water in the door and a button for a light to come on. one night DH and I were watching TV and the light comes on all of a sudden DH says my mom must have had one hell of a sense of humor if she's the one messing with us

I believe in ghosts. Never experienced anything personally. When my grandmother was dying she used to say, "Tell that little girl I don't want to go with her!" My Aunt asked her what little girl? Grandmom said the little girl looked her sister Ruth. Ruth died when she was 5 years old, my grandmother was a few years older. I did not see or feel anything. My grandmother would also say, "What's that bright light in the corner?" and she'd be pointing at the ceiling. That was weird because it was night time, the lights would be out, and the tv off. My Aunt and I would be laying on the couch and love seat, my grandmom in the lazyboy. The strangest thing is my grandmother did not believe in ghosts or that when you die you go to heaven, she was Jehovah's Witness.

I do believe in ghosts, guardian angels, and spirits. I was almost 9 months pregnant when my grandma died and we rented her house after she passed from my parents and I would see her at times just out of the corner of my eye. My daughter lives in that house now and the cabinet doors will be open when she wakes up and different things like that have happened.

I believe in ghosts. Of course, I'm born on Halloween!

When we bought our present house it had been in one family ever since it was built back in the early 1920's. The same couple had lived in it the whole time, until a year before (2006) the old man had finally died. So the family sold the house.

House is kinda strange, the bedrooms have a connecting door.

About the third night we slept there, my Dd came into my room and crawled into bed with me. OK.. this was just STRANGE.. she's 15 at that point, but I'm exhausted from unpacking so whatever...

Next morning I asked her why, and she told me she woke up and there was an old lady reaching for her face. She got scared, although she was pretty convinced that it must have been some sort of dream.

A couple nights later.. same thing, except I find the kid in the morning, sleepless in the living room she says it was the same dream, except with her head cold she just couldn't get back to sleep..

Ok.. this is a bit much.

So Dh and I swap our room for hers for the night. I wake up in the middle of the night, and there's an old lady asking me where's the baby? She thinks it has a fever...

We called the guy we bought the house from (the grandson) and he says that room used to be the NURSERY..
I honestly believe that woman was just checking on the kid to see if she was OK. Reaching for my face = Checking for a fever, the old fashioned way.

We lit candles and spent an awkward half hour explaining to thin air that we were a new family, and that we'd take good care of the house, and please stop it you're frightening the baby.

Since then.. nothing, just every once in a while the house smells like pie.

I don't know what to believe, but I have seen and heard some weird things over the years. I spent a week at a friend's house once when her roommate was away. She worked nights and I was at school during the day so we usually only saw each other in the evenings after I got home and before she left.

The first couple nights alone I heard someone open the apt door and come walking down the hall to the bedrooms. I thought it was one of the two of them, but then I wouldn't hear anything else and the place would be empty when I got up. We were on the 3rd floor and the attic above us was unused.

I said something about it one night and my friend thought maybe I was imagining it, or hearing something else. Then at the end of the week her roommate came home and as we were sitting around chatting the 2nd girl asked if I had heard "the ghost". She'd been hearing the noises at night too! My friend, who worked nights, was never home to hear the footsteps.

Anyway, it was totally weird and creepy. One of the other tenants said there was a rumor someone had hung themselves in the attic years ago. It was an old house in the city, probably had hundreds of occupants, and no way to check out a story like that.

Our house is haunted. I know for sure it is. We have so many stories about this house. Things that happen. noises we hear.I could go on and on.

I do believe in guardian angels....after my Dad passed away he came to me and put his arms around me and squeezed...like he was telling me he was ok, I felt it like it was a real hug. I know he sits with my ds who was 2 when he died. Ds tells me that he feels him all the time. Dad smoked and every so often I can smell cigarette smoke in the house and none of us smoke and nobody has ever smoked in my house so I know it is Dad just hanging out.

Hey Dawn, well its really funny because. The dog will stand at the steps and bark her fur will be standing up. When you go upstairs to check things out, you can feel the tempature change. The feeling of being watched. I personally have been pushed down the stairs. It some times gets scary.

Yes, I believe in them. Have never had an encounter.

Have read all sorts of 'true stories' about them. I find it very interesting.

I guess it depends on how one defines a ghost.

I enjoy Sylvia Brown's stories and answers.
