They forgot to ring in $7 worth of coupons? You're going to have to watch those guys next time!
I've had them forget once or twice, but I've never had that many to redeem at once. It's a little embarrassing for me, but I sometimes stop after checkout and go over the receipt before I leave the store. I'd rather catch a mistake there than at home and have to come back.Use it up, Wear it out,

It would be wise to always check your receipt thoroughly before leaving the store or at least in your car or at the worst when you get home. I regularly catch mistakes on my receipts.
If you catch them at the register BEFORE you finish checking out, the cashier can correct it right there. If you catch it AFTER you are done, you have to go to customer service and get a refund.

there are great sites online that will teach you the ropes, as well as give you the deals and match coupons and savings cards discounts..... etc
Just something as simple as this week. I went to Wags 2x, and among other things, I got two packs of trident gum for 1.00 each. I printed off .75 coupon for each one, and got a 1.00 RR for the purchase. 2.00 - .75x2 = .50 then I got a 1.00 RR. .50profit for two packs of gum. I did that twice. I realize that's a small thing....but the small things can really encourage us - and that was just one small example.
there are some great couponing sites out there....good luckLast edited by IntlMom; 10-09-2009 at 12:24 PM. Reason: got the fried spam thing! :)

Ummm, I think you did great! As the OP's said it will get easier and you'll be a pro in no time. BTW, this Sunday's paper will have 1 Smart Source, 1 RedPlum, and 1 P&G insert. Find the paper nearest you with the biggest circulation to get the bigger inserts. Good luck and hang in there.

Yeah, you really have to watch them, coupons or no coupons.
You did GREAT and do have a great start.......will be second nature to you before you know it!!
And I have found that some stores are worse than others.......our Target is HORRIBLE for mistakes and we have one semi-local groc. store that is horrible for making mistakes. Even have to watch which type of bakery product they ring up as I have found errors there!!

Check the site couponmom out. I am pretty sure Kroger is one of the stores listed. It makes couponing really easy.
It will take a while and some money to get a good stockpile. But once that happens you will be able to wait for the really good sales with coupons to stockup. It sounds like you did really well meat shopping. I always keep an eye out for managers specials on meat. It is now at the point that I only buy meat when it is a managers special.
