Watch your paper ads......clip coupons.......and read, read, read.......and KNOW what you use a lot of and the prices on those things so you will know a good sale when it happens.

I always tell people to check out the couponmom website. She really makes it easy to use coupons.

When you first start out make sure to only buy things you already use to avoid waste.

    Have fun.

Rainchecks........don't forget the rainchecks. I have alot of good luck getting rainchecks for sale items from Safeway. Then I use them a month or two later when there are good coupons. I have stocked away quite a bit doing that. I always get the raincheck for a large amount of the item.

Rainchecks were a good reminder. I used to do it for meat sometimes. If there was a terrific sale, and I really didn't have much freezer room, I would go late the last day of the sale. If I was unlucky, I would buy a little. If I was lucky and they were out, I would get the rain check and I could get it several weeks later when I had more room to store it.

That's a great strategy! I will have to try it. I normally don't think about getting a raincheck but I want to start being more conscious about it because it would save me lots in the long run.
