Temporaraly Lost My Way
I signed up a few years ago, made a couple of posts, then lost the bookmark for this site. But I was a third generation frugal spender and thought I was doing OK.
Yesterday I made a quick stop at the grocery store where I blew $50that I couldn't afford on absolute junk! When I got home and really looked at the two Small bags of microwave stuff.
With horror I realised that little by little over the past year I have been corupted by my best friends frivolous spending habits.
So I have returned clutching whats left of my tattered budget to get back in touch with my frugal roots.

Advertising and friends who live a "standard" lifestyle are seriously the well intentioned path that lead to budget hell...

Rule number One: Don't beat yourself up.
Rule number Two: Don't expect Rome to be built in a day. If you expect to be sprouting seeds, making bread and yogurt, switching to cloth everything, and spending 25¢ on the dollar for everything else by tomorrow... well, you'll just overwhelm yourself.
Rule number Three: Be proud of what you are accomplishing!

Welcome back, Thevail, and thanks to all for the great advice....especially the reminder that Rome wasn't built in a day. I tend to expect immediate results so that was a very useful reminder to me.

Welcome back! I like you, visited the forums before and then stopped and let the budget go a bit...Now I have a brand new mortgage payment coming *closing 10/30* and NEED to stick to my budget. I have learned so much from this forum and I have yet to see anything negative here---everyone is so kind! So I will be planting myself here and we will all get by together

Welcome back. At least you realized your mistakes and know how to correct them. I made the mistake of joining and then forgot for 3 years that I had joined. It makes me cringe to think of all the wasted knowledge and advise I missed out on.
