Because of mad cow disease, they put restrictions on people who had been to Britain donating blood.

I had been donating every 8 weeks, but unfortunately I've hit a point my iron has been running too low, which has put a damper on the donations, despite the fact that I'm taking extra iron. Bums me out.

I dont think they'd let me.Im hypothyroid,I have fibromyalgia,Im a free bleeder, low iron....my veins hide and roll... Next time I see the Red Cross bus out..I'll ask

Before Jan,I had poly cystic ovarian syndrome and bled A LOT ..ended up having a complete hysterectomy.I barely had enough blood for myself

When my mom was alive and healthy enough she donated. She had a rare blood type and always got paid.

My husband cant..he has vasal vagus or something another.....lol

I just donated my 49th pint. I do it because I feel like it is my way of helping someone when they really needed it and that is the only reward I need.

fibro alone won't rule you out, but depending upon what drugs you take for it, that can rule you out. I don't donate because of the the way I was treated, but I was already on the fence about it because I would have to stay off all pain meds for a week before hand to make sure that I didn't bleed too easily.

Turned down because of medication and anemia. Too bad because I have great veins!
