    Default Brag About Your Deals

I just wanted to start a thread where people can post/brag about the awesome deals they've recently got.

I have one for today...We went to Sears this morning and got 9 dress shirts for DH for $102.68 including tax (which comes out to $11.41 per shirt)! They were on sale for 50% off the already-reduced price plus they had dress shirts for 40% off the sale price. Had we paid full price (which we never would have) it would have cost us $324.91. We saved $223.23!!!

BEING FRUGAL IS WAY TOO MUCH FUN!!!!!

OK...I got another fabulous deal today...only much cheaper than the shirts...

I got 38 (thirty-eight) 375 gram boxes of Catelli Healthy Harvest Pasta (ranging from spaghetti, spaghettini, rotoni and penne rigata) for 4 cents each making the total purchase $1.52!!!!! That's less than the cost of one box at Zellers. I price matched, used coupons and used my 10% discount card. Woohoo!!!!!

BTW...Just in case you're wondering we're donating many of the boxes to missionary families at our church. There's no way we could possibly eat that much pasta by the expiry...lol!

I wanted to replace some light fixtures - all of them in bathrooms & hallways.
The ones I wanted were running about $20-$25 dollars each and I needed 6 of them.
I found the ones I wanted at Lowes - in a contractors pack - 6 complete light fixtures for $39.88!!!
I felt like I had hit a jackpot!

My recent best deal was at Walmart, on marked down red tags. They have canning jars, canning items, etc right now on special. I picked up $ 10 worth, of sure jell for $ 1.00 a package. They have individual boxes for $ 1, was 1.49 and the two in package, was 2.88 for $ 2.00. I want to do make some jam this winter so to me this was a good deal. Expiration date is 2012.

I also got some milk this past week at Aldi's for 1.49 a gallon. All 3 kinds of their milk was this price. A short while ago, they had it for 1.29 a gallon. That week I picked up 4 gallons.
Good for us, but not the local farmers.

    Here's a new one I got today...

Glade candles is having a mail in rebate from their website. If you buy any 2 Glade air care products from Loblaws (and sister stores) you get a $5 President's Choice gift card. For those of you who don't know what President's Choice gift cards is...it's for a large chain of grocery and discount grocery stores. There was a limit of 8 gift cards per household.

I went through a check out 8 times with 2 Glade candle tins and used my Try Me Free for Glad candle tins that are printable from the Glade website. The coupons said that it includes the taxes. So...I paid $0 and I should be receiving $40 in President's Choice gift cards within 6 to 8 weeks. Woohoo!!! Free groceries!!!!! (I'll not tell DH about this one because he'll find a way to use the gift cards frivilously. He'll say it's 'free money' so we should use it any way we like. Because I'm frugal I won't tell him and use it towards groceries.)

I did not buy any today, but Big Lots has fruit cocktail cans of 16 oz no sugar for .50 each. I watched a lady buy quite a few but I have canned fruit in the pantry and did not have need to add any. But a good deal if you have a BIG LOT in your area.

If you buy wild bird seed at TSC they have a good deal going on now till Jan 23. Their 35 pound bags are 9.99, but they have 20 pound bags for 3.99. So we bought 2 of the smaller bags.
And the cashier whispered to me that the suet bird treats will be on sale next week. Not sure of the price though. We buy extra when there is a sale, and put it in the freezer.
