Hello from the frozen wastelands of N.D.
New user, always looking for places to hang out on the web and talk about things that interest me.
I live in the remote part of North Dakota. And trust me, when other North Dakotans consider where you live to be rural, it's *really* rural.
Edited to add questionnaire:
How did you hear about frugal village? Googling for interesting forums.
What interests you here? I'm a huge fan of frugality, learning what is and is not important in life.
What will you contribute? If nothing else, if a forum interests me, I can produce a darn good volume of posts.
I come from a poor background and will probably be living comfortably on a small income for the rest of my life (stupid journalism degree). I think that's an interesting perspective on frugality. I'm sort of in between the people who are in truly desperate circumstances (though I've been there) and the people who make quite a bit of money but need to learn not to spend it.
Do you know any other members here? No.
How many kids? Ages? Just one, Patrick, born just a little over 7 weeks ago on Aug. 25.
Tell us about yourself.
Do you own any pets? Two cats, Cap and Prior. Cap is tiny and she is the mother of Prior, who is huge. Cap is about 6, not completely sure. Prior is 5.
Occupation? I'm a sports reporter for a small daily paper.
Married or single? Married, 6+ years.
Interests and hobbies? Sports (especially international sports such as cricket and rugby), money, computers, general nerdery, chess, webcomicsLast edited by Inkstain82; 10-17-2009 at 10:06 PM.

Thanks all.
Interesting note: For about 15 minutes last night I was wondering if I'd stumbled onto a women's only site, just looking at the names of all the posters I could see.

We have a few men on the forum. Heard the wind whisling while you were posting LOL. Welcome from MIchigan. My brother has a "stupid journalism degree" also. Used to work for a small paper here too. Does freelance when he can get it now.
