Question Are you friendly with your neighbors?

The reason I ask, is because new neighbors moved in over the weekend. So, dh and I walk over to introduce ourselves, after they got all moved in. She didn't even speak. All he had to say was to make sure our cat didn't go on his porch, and if our newly planted (on our property) shrubs get to big, he will cut them down. Now, I could see if we were kind of scuzzy, and all of our stuff was overgrown, but it isn't. Our yard is one of the nicest in the neighborhood.

Anyway, I was just wondering. I think my feelings just got hurt, because I was hoping they would at least be nice.

Kind of like the neighborhood bully . Probably ruled the roost where he came from. I would have back with same attitude after that. That's just me. We're the only house on the street and like it that way. Dosen't sound like he wants to be "neighbors".
By the way, I'd keep the cat out of his yard or I have the feeling it will disappear. What an ass.

LOL. I know, right. The cat doesn't even go over there. The only place she goes is in the back yard.

I was kind of rude back after that. Then I just walked away.

~That was so rude and wrong of them to threaten your bushes. You just have to take the high road with neighbors like those. A quick smile and wave when you see them in the yard or a "good morning" here and there will either drive them crazy or convert them to civility but at least they'll be educated on what a good neighbor is.~

I am very glad to have the neighbors I have! One is kind of eccentric, but is awesome. He helped me out immensely when Zac was deployed and will probably do so again next time around. The other neighbor is a family, a bit older than us and definitely more reserved than we are, but they have a little boy Wesley's age and a little baby girl. The little boy and Wesley get along great--it's like a built in best friend!

A friend of ours has psycho neighbors. Seriously. Insane. They set on their roof with binoculours and spy on the neighborhood and smoke. But I am sure it breaks up the monotony that comes along with being quarintined for tuberculous.

I'll have to try that. Those bushes cost over $500, if they chop them down I'll scream! We keep them all nice and trimmed.

Wow what a first impression. Sure does not sound like they want to get together and have a BBQ anytime soon. Keep the bushes trimmed and the cat out of the yard and leave the next move to them.

We are the bad neighbors on our block
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I haven't' found too many friendly neighbors and more often then not if they are friendly it's because they are nosy and want to control things.

Makes me thankful that I have no neighbors......but I would have welcomed you! You sound like the old fashioned type of neighbors that doesn't seem too common anymore. Probably when they need help of some sort they will remember you were nice to them when they first moved in and then ask you for help. I'd keep a eye on the kitty, but I doubt they could cut your bushes down no matter how big they get...not legally.
