No i will not be passing out candy, we may get two trick or treaters in our complex. I am planning on getting myself a treat and enjoying the night with a movie or my book. I am not much of a halloween person but i do enjoy seeing the little kids dressed up.

Sad to say no. We live in the country and they have a party at the firehouse for the kids. I miss the real Halloween when kids could wait until dark and start trick or treating, not get home from school and change into their costumes to walk around the neighborhood in broad daylight, really scary and fun. Not.

Halloween Participation & H1N1
Its heck of times when you have to consider negative things on a holiday. Sorry for intertwining the two topics, but things are different than they used to be.
Unfortunately, four people in my immediate neighborhood have confirmed they have the H1N1 virus. 40% of the school is absent, either WITH it confirmed, or with suspected cases.
Therefore, for the first time ever, my son won't be going door to door. However, we will instead go to families and friends doors only. In addition, we'll be doing it with my girlfriends families and friends too (all within 5 miles).
So, yes, this is more gas, but when your childs life MAY or MAY NOT be at stake ..... I'd rather not take the risk. I don't think this is fanatical behavior, just cautious behavior. Afterall, he still goes to school, but school has water and hand sanitizers readily available (and teacher encouraged) between classes. Halloween houses DON'T. You could also bring the waterless sanitizers if you go.
I also thought that I may, for the first time ever, throw a kids Halloween party. I'll go into a description on another blog or post if you search it. I think my son would enjoy it & WHY NOT? After all, Halloween IS on a Saturday this year which allows most people more time to plan vs. doing it after working all day like so many previous years.
Good luck in whatever you decide. Dont forget to check my Halloween party posting. Its real easy.

Wow, we always get 75-100 kids. Alot of times they come by car from other not as nice neighborhoods. We always give out juice boxes because they are running and running. We used to give out boyscout popcorn as I got it at cost when I worked at the office/store. I hope Halloween isn't cancelled due to that flu. I love seeing the little ones as I have teens. I know my kids said they don't know ANYONE who is having a party. Very unusual.

We will give out candy before and after taking our kids out trick-or treating. I'm just hoping the weather holds out and is like last year, cold but not freezing!

Not going to be home. We are taking my dd16 to a concert in Orlando. Well we are dropping her and a friend off and picking them up. It is in the afternoon till early evening. DH and I will have to find something to do for a few hours. Shopping and eating come to my mind.

When the kids were small we always did something with our church . They had a fall festival each year so the kids got to dress up and and get wayyyyyy to much candy that way.
There are a few churches that are having what they call Trunk or Treat tonight (the 24) People decorate their trunks and beds of trucks all in the parking lot and the kids go from trunk to trunk. They usually have bouncy things and rock climbing walls too.Married 22 years to Mark

We only get one or two a year. I found a bucket of bubble gum on sale, so that's what we're giving out this year. Last year I had ONE kid and we gave out play doh. I have the remains to my boss's kids.
This year whatever we don't give away will likely be split between my boss's kids and my nieces!

We live out in the country in a sparsely populated area with no small kids. Haven't had a trick-or-treater in years, and don't expect any, so guess we won't be stocking up on candy.
Do whatever He tells you.
