Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

I put my purse in one or two places at home - on the floor by my desk or on my back desk. Either way - my gov't rebate cheque came in

Hmmmm, maybe I need to stop hanging my purse on the hook when I get home and put it on the floor.
But, I get tired of lint rolling the dog hair off of it!

OMG, I've been doing the keep your purse off the floor thing for a few weeks now.
Yesterday I came home and found a $700 check from our insurance company. We had scraped together the money to pay all the homeowners insurance for the year and sent off the check two weeks ago. Yesterday they sent me a check because our homeowners insurance is paid out of our mortgage by our mortgage company!
$700 unexpected dollars for the Emergency Fund! I can't tell you how happy this makes me!

Homer: Not a bear in sight. The Bear Patrol must be working like a
charm.
Lisa: That's spacious reasoning, Dad.
Homer: Thank you, dear.
Lisa: By your logic I could claim that this rock keeps tigers away.
Homer: Oh, how does it work?
Lisa: It doesn't work.
Homer: Uh-huh.
Lisa: It's just a stupid rock.
Homer: Uh-huh.
Lisa: But I don't see any tigers around, do you?
[Homer thinks of this, then pulls out some money]
Homer: Lisa, I want to buy your rock.
[Lisa refuses at first, then takes the exchange]If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Just to be clear - I'm thrilled you have extra money - but that's cause, not to put too fine a point on it, you didn't understand how your escrow account works, not because of anything to do with your purse and the floor...
