Default How's this for a Christmas gift?

Both my parents and my inlaws have been fussing the last couple of years about us not buying Christmas gifts for them. So this year I have a thought. My dd is a senior this year and she wants me to take her senior pics. We've been working on this over time and I have gotten some really great shots of her including a totally fluke one yesterday of her surrounded in sunbeams! What if I get a couple of those picture frames that holds 8-10 pics and make them a senior collage of her? I've also been taking pics of ds and I could give them a 5x7 framed of him too? I thought I might get frames that hold 3 pics and do them for the aunts and uncles too(one of dd's senior, one of ds and then one of them together).

    Is that a good gift?

Quite often we have given the grandparents framed pictures of the kids for gifts. Our relatives have always loved them.

I think it would be a great gift. We give dh's side of the family our family pic and some of the kids as gifts each year. We bought picture frames a couple of years ago, and now just give the pictures.

ETA: We also give calendars with pictures of the kids. They are the biggest hit, and they all remind us every year that they want another next year. I can get them really cheap from Vista Print.

I think pictures are a great gift, especially the one with the sunbeams...sounds really cool!

I'm contemplating that this year - making frames and digging up MEGA old pics - back into the retro era we go!

Love the idea of giving pictures!! My SIL never got the hint that all I ever wanted was pictures - you know - wallet size school pictures - of my nieces!! Am sure your gifts would be very well received!!

My dd is not a senior, but this is exactly what I am thinking about doing for my mom and my sister. We have put a dollar amount on giving again this year and I think the pictures will work out great.

    Great idea.

I once did a calender for my parents but I did each month's picture as a scrapbook page.

    Whoa....wait......back up the truck.

I'm still struggling with the idea of people (family!) EXPECTING gifts from you. I give my parents gifts every year out of habit, but I have discouraged my sons from feeling they need to give gifts to me. Maybe it's because I'm so tired of the whole commercialism thing.

If you want an answer, though....pictures are an awesome idea.

I think it is a lovely idea. You can even customize the matting, if you have more talent than I do, to match the individual giftee.

I think it is a great idea. I have also put together vcds. One year I took old photos of my siblings and family and put it to the song Running Bear (sentimental in our family). I made copies of the cd and gave one to everyone. They were a hit. Brought back memories!
