Default I refound a neat book today (in my attic)

for saving $ on food. It's for commercial kitchens, 200 Ways to Control Food Costs in Quantity Cooking by J.O. Dahl.

I'll post some of it later. But in researching this, and the side trails that lead to, I found an online home-ec book of .05 meals! Here's a link for that:

    http://www.archive.org/stream/fivece...ge/n3/mode/2up

Some things change (like the price!) but some things never do. There's home-made syrup in there and other things like baking powder cinnamon rolls that I've either done or wanted to! (Not from these recipes though.)

Anyway, I thought folks would be interested, I sure was!

That is a neat book! I looked over some of it and it really makes you appreciate how much things have changed.

Tip- for anymore who would like to try some of the recipes , it's safe to assume 350 for cook temp. This book was written before the oven had a temp dial.
