I had mine stolen. We were remodeling our house and had a bunch of friends helping. A neighbor brought her brother over to help. Long story short. he took it from the end table when he went in to use the restroom... never got it back, he pawned it. I looked for it for a year, hoping i would find it. I didnt find out until a year later, and the neighbor said she didnt want to say anything to get her brother in trouble!... Never saw her after that. anyway insurance replaced it.

About 10 years ago I could find my wedding and engagement rings (I had put them on a table beside sofa) I looked everywhere, I pulled out the fridge, oven (then had to clean behind them LOL), pulled out drawers, went through the washer, dryer, I tore the whole house apart and finally my son told me where he had put them......he put them in a bowl of candy I had for trick or treaters!!!! Whew glad I found them before someone had a nice and expensive little treat

    My husband lost his.

Well, "lost" is probably the wrong word. We know exactly where it is. It fell off his finger while he was working in the sewers.

At least it was only a $50 ring and not his whole finger.

We didn't replace it. It was his "work" ring, not his fancy ring. And I don't want to chance him wearing his work ring when he's actually working, ever again. He wears his other ring (that matches mine) when we are going to worship, or just going out on errands and things. Never when we are doing work on the house.

I take mine off when I am doing housework or showering, working out, or anything else that might damage it. And when I sleep, my hands swell, so I don't wear it overnight, either.

On our 3rd wedding anniversary we went on a cruise and while kayaking in the ocean, a wave came up suddenly and knocked dh and I out of the kayak. His ring got lost in the ocean, we looked for a little bit, but decided that it was lost for good. We did replace the ring and the jeweler let us purchase the exact same ring at the exact same price I had paid 4 years earlier. We got the ring sized down so it is not as loose and we have a no wearing jewelry off the cruise ship policy.

My heart goes out to you! I know you are disappointed and I hope that it's under the car seat.

    Hope you find it.

I lost one as well. I got fat and couldn't wear it. Then I lost some weight but not enough to wear it on the right finger. Then, knowing it was loose I forgot to take it off before I went to bed. I lost it in bed sleeping and have been unable to find it. I searched for months and have been completely frustrated by not being able to find it as our bedroom is pretty bare. (It's either been sucked up by the vaccuum or eaten by the border collie is my thought at this point. I did run checks on both those items a few times in the first few months of looking too. LOL) It's been a few years now and I've given up. If it shows up, it shows up.

We talked several times about replacing the rings. They weren't expensive ones but they were a little fancier than plain bands and I had always just wanted the plain bands anyway and our original ones had a gap underneath and hubby doesn't wear his most of the time because insulation gets stuck under it at work and tears his hand up. So we've discussed it several times but the money always seemed/seems to be better off elsewhere. Then one day about 6 months ago hubby comes home from work, gets down on his knee and asks me to marry him, AND slips this "ring" on my finger. I ruffle his hair, tell him yes, give him a big kiss, and then we look at the ring and chuckle. I think maybe it use to be a cheap costume hoop earring. He found it on the ground and had remembered I still had the TWINKIE ring a kid I worked with had given me and had brought this home as a joke.

I still have it on. It use to look like a thin plain gold band with small carvings in it. The gold plating has worn off though and now it looks like a thin white gold band with carvings. I think it's just really good tin .However, where the first bands were blessed by a priest this one is blessed by hugs and laughter. One day we'll get another set but for now this one brings lots of smiles and laughs.

I have found rings twice in my life. Maybe I should come over and help you look?

Once was at the post office, I found a ring I figured was fake because the diamond was so big. I mentioned it to the postal employee and stuck it in my coat pocket to give to my niece (who liked to play dress up). Three days later, the post office called me - and the darn things was REAL! I returned it to a very grateful woman.

The other time was in a supermarket parking lot, just a plain gold band with engraving. I turned it in to the police and someone came looking for it.

Both times I was glad I turned it in.

DH doesn't wear a ring. He loses glasses and keys constantly and I didn't want the worry of a ring for him. I bought him a cheap ring on a trip we took since getting married. I keep it in my jewelry box and he has worn it maybe twice.

My ring belonged to his grandmother, a gift from her husband for her 40th wedding anniversary. Intead of a big diamond, it has 40 diamond chips in a flat setting (very art deco and cool, I get an amazing number of compliments on my ring). I've lost chips out of it twice, and the family jeweler replaced them both times at no charge from "scraps" he had. I am SO GLAD I don't have a big diamond to worry about.
