    Default Halloween

Last night around 6 ish a knock came to my door. I went to open it and there stood Casper in a red outfit and someone who looked like Rumplestilskin with a walking cane. Nobody said anything. This was weird because many years ago trick or treating was banned here because a boy got hit by a car and was severely injured. Anyway nobody said a word and Casper held out a baggie of candy to me. Well at this point Icfigured they had to be some of SD's friend cause any friends of mine take candy and run not give it away. The neighbors decided to do reverse trick or treating and go door to door delivering candy. Now if I can just get dh to dress up and take them some cookies over the weekend. I know alot of neighborhoods have the police officrs in cruisers handing out candy instead of the kids going door to door. This helps to gain their trust and you can be pretty sure the candy is ok.

Very cool. Years ago someone did that pumpkin on your porch thing. That was annoying. I was broke and so I just passed it on. My kids were mad at me.

Dear lord. I know we live in an overly fearful society, but there is no good reason to ban trick-or-treating.

It was actually banned back in the 70's. The little by was 6 or 7 and was hit by a game commission suburban that threw him almost 30 feet. He suffered brain damage. For awhile they did a community thing at the local community center but that didn't last long. I think most of the kids go into the local town about 10 miles away to trick or treat
