Influenza suggestion
I just posted this on someone else's thread, and thought I share it with everyone.
IF you or someone you love comes down with influenza/sore throat, stomach bug - CHANGE OUT THE TOOTHBRUSHES!!!
You constantly re-infect yourself, and if you brush often, you actually make it worse because the brush never dries out in between.
I learned this trick long ago, and it eliminated my every winter sore throats.

I alwast throw out there tootehbrushes after theyve been sick.
also i have hand sanatizer on the kitchen counter as they come in from school or church etc. No need to touch every surface they came in contact from school etc then bring it home.
I always hand sant. all handles , door knobs, toilet rims handles etc well and trim in certain places and quick swipe of top of chairs and key board daily since. a small squirt of sant will do .
I dont let the kids if their sick put their dirty glasses , dishes etc with ours. I wash seperatley with very hot water , soap and vinegar.

I know toothbrushes don't really break the budget but it truly does irk me when I get sick just after I've opened a new toothbrush. If my germs are not that severe - ie just a cold - then I'll let my brush sit and soak in Listerine only (b/c of the high alcohol content) between brushings until I get better.
Seems to work for me. But with this severe flu going around - yeah I'll prob splurge the $5 to get a new one.2012: The Year Of The Purge!
