You poor momma! I cannot handle my kids being sick. At all. I hope he gets better quickly.

My husband is sick now. He woke up vomiting on Saturday and was bedridden the entire weekend. He went to work without a fever and was told to suck it up and get back to work, but now he's home early and back in bed with a fever again. He's getting a chest xray tomorrow. I'm worried about him.

I won't let him near me or the kids. I'll be so glad when this passes.

I'm amazed at how this has all played out. In the beginning this was just a big joke it seemed, and if we ate our veggies and drank enough water we'd all be fine... I'm young but I have to say I've never encountered anything like it. Everyone seems to be sick at once. I have several family members with it and one is still in the hospital.

I was hoping to get the vaccine before we got it. No such luck.

I hope your poor hubby feels better soon! It is frightening as it is laying out healthy people. I thought it was a big joke and media propaganda to be honest. Not any more. I had a nurse tell me so many seem to get better only to come down with pneumonia

He is in a lot less pain in his chest and back today. He says he feels better but the fever is still raging and to be honest he looks bad.

I think he is faking a bit because he is supposed to retake his driving test tomorrow and doesn't want to miss it. I told him that is very unfair to the person that tests him!

I called him into school again and got the same 24 hour answer. Ok so how do I report it?

So sorry! It is scary when healthy kids get so sick. My ds is fighting it right now with an almost 105 degree fever. Very scary, but thankfully the motrin brings it down to around 100. We are watching him closely.

If the school is being that ridiculous, then you can always claim the fever broke later than it did. My dd had H1N1 a few weeks ago and the fatigue after all the other symptoms went away was unbelievable. She was sleeping 13 hours a night and exhausted all the time. could hardly make it through a school day, even when all symptoms were gone. keep him home!

    Great idea!

I hope your ds gets better soon. Your poor dd! It really is an awful virus . I just talked 2 his employer and they want clearance to come back. Half their staff is sick including a pregnant woman. That is worrisome! His employer was raving about the schools being stupid.

Ok, sending you a link to the CDC. Hopefully it works. If not it is simply www.cdc.gov. http://www.cdc.gov/ It's not a bad website to have in favorites and once in awhile skim thur. Also very interesting.

Also link to contact them. http://www.cdc.gov/contact/
There will be two things buttons you can push. Report an emergency and All other topics. Check each out or send to both.

Hope this helps. Are you still Mommy or is he well enough now for you to be his favorite toy? Just a little humor tho know you're not in the mood.

Sides does anyone know if once you get this can you catch it again? Meaning if he ( which he's not but..) goes back to school and passes it around or his girlfriend does can he catch it again?
Haven't heard any thing about that.

One more thought on reporting it. Where we are I honestly believe if the health department locally were contacted I don't think they would be to happy. Might also try the local one for you.

Let us know how he's doing and if these websites helped any. I tried. Hugs to you and yours and thoughts are with you.

All my children have had it now including my child with diabetes. It was terrifying, and I almost ended up in the hosp. with her. My 15 year old son had it longest and he had a bad cough to. Funny thing it is my son who usually gets over things the fastest but he didn't this time.

Is he over the fever yet?
Please if he isn't take him back to the doctors.
The children in Canada who died were healthy. There were one of two things that happened in each case. One was a fever that did not subside after several days or their breathing changed suddenly. Just be very very careful. This virus isn't normal, it doesn't respond like other viruses do.
I hope he is over it!

Ok, found it on the website. Unfortunately it's the same thing the school is saying. So just tell them he still has the fever.
How http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/sick.htm#6long should I stay home if I’m sick?

CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other things you have to do and no one else can do for you. (Your fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine, such as Tylenol®.) You should stay home from work, school, travel, shopping, social events, and public gatherings.

They're telling us here that they don't even want to see you in the clinic if you have the flu. It's either bad enough to go to the ER or you stay home because they don't want you bringing into the clinic.

One thing about it though when this is over, you and I will be DONE and we can sit back and relax knowing that it's already passed us by, right?

Thanks I'll take a peek! He was doing better yesterday ( I thought) and then spiked to 104 last night. Darn! I did catch him yesterday trying not to put the thermometer all the way in his mouth to get a lower reading. He really wanted to take that driving test.

Gosh I hope you can't catch it twice!

Glad hubby is getting better and the baby too. I'm still hoping I, my other child and dh don't get it.

Dh's coworker ended up with an enlarged spleen from it and a raging infection. Odd huh? He has been out almost 3 weeks
