going into lockdown
I live in a really rural area. today there have been helicopters flying around. Nothing unsual we are on the medvacs flight path. WRONG! There is an escaped fugitve considered armed and dangerous that got away from the cops less than a mile from our house. So I am going into lockdown til I have to pick up dh at work. I won't be going the back way that's for sure. That's where they think he is. We rarely get any excitement around here but when we do it's usually big. Two years ago was the last time. They found two bodies about 3 miles from here in the spilly piles. This guy picked the wrong day to run. It's rainy and cold with fluffies fying around too.

Take care of yourself and stay safe please.

Don't forget to carry the phone with you from room to room. Please be careful and let us know when it's over. I would also put something noisy in front of the doors like a stack of cans or pots, something to make noise if the door was opened. Used to work at the Sheriffs Dept and these were some of the tips the Prevention Officer taught in classes.
Example, if a door has glass that can be taped and cut to reach down and turn a door knob you will hear the cans/pot when the door is opened, even quietly. This actually happened once at another house we had.

Good tips Niko.
Please stay safe. Good idea also mentioned to keep the phone near you.
I had this happen once in the house I used to own. Helicopter with search lights going low into everyone's back yard. It's scary.
I hope it is over soon.
