What products are made in America ?
I put the question -
"what is made in America" into a google search.
These are some of the links that came up.
I have clicked through to the sites I have listed. I have not done a major search on these sites however. I just wanted to get a idea of what was out there.
http://www.homemadeinamerica.com/directory/
http://www.forbes.com/2009/05/28/ame...kers_land.html It has a lot of links to Americain companies.

Local farmer and craft markets
I am just touching the tip of the iceberg here for what is out there.
It is time we all put the effort into buying American made products.
Please add a few links of your own........--------My signature--------

I don't have one to add right now but does anyone remember when Walton was alive and above the entrance doors was a huge sign that said how many American made products were new to the store for the month. They were listed and I believe the number that had been purchased for the stores.
Large lists and always being added to. Is that what they call the good old days.....Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

It was something they tried. It was believed that people would pay more form American made products. It was discontinued because not enough people were will to pay more for something American made.
Was Sam Walton a head of his time? If Wal mart tried this now (marketing American made products) would they have a better outcome? Would they find that people were will to pay more for American made products?

I have also heard even if it is made in america many of the parts to make an item came from overseas. Although I have heard corncob pipes are definately american.
I do think it is good to support american companies though. Especially with todays economy.

Thanks ladytoysdream, made in America is becoming harder and harder to find. When I met my husband I remember him being very stauch about buying American, I thought he was excessive in his stance. Over the years I have watched as our factories have disappeared, friends have lost their jobs, and homes once owned by those employeed by the manufactoring plants sadly sold and became apartments.
They say the manufactoring will be the hardest hit in lost jobs never to recover when the economy rebounds. I think we could change that if we made an true effort and sacarfice buy paying more for American made, American owned companies. How can we ever expect to really recover if all jobs recovered are low paying jobs?
Last time I checked New Balance shoes are American made. as is

Great thread and I have saved some links to favorites. I try to buy American as it becomes harder and harder.
Even the good old Corning white glass baking dishes are now ceramic and made in China. Just a few years ago they were still glass and made in the USA. I'll have to find some in thrift stores now I guess.
