Feeling the need to cry....
Do you ever just have days when you feel depressed about everything? Sometimes my mind will not shut down and I start to over-analyze everything and then the worrying begins. I just want to cry but I can't even seem to do that. This condition is made worse by the fact that I am sick and had to call into work today. I hate calling in sick to work. I have a doctors appointment soon so hopefully I'll get an antibiotic and be back to work tomorrow. I just feel like crawling back into bed and hiding under the covers. I would do that too if I thought I could sleep. I just lay there and feel guilty for all the things I should be doing and then I feel worse. Anyone else feeling this way? How do you get past it?

I think everyone has those days. Sometimes I like to shop, take a long hot bath or shower, cook/bake, and sometimes I just turn up the radio really load and make myself clean. Oh, and reading! I LOVE to read. Hope you feel better soon.

I myself have been kinda depressed lately (a lot really) but I honestly had a good weekend. I attribute it to being busy. I worked and worked all weekend and didn't have time to think or worry about what is going wrong. I made myself stay outside and away from TV and other things.
I planned other things I'd like to get done so I have something to look forward to.
How would you advise someone in the same position?? You'd say.. "being sick will take it out of you so don't feel guilty about that."Russ

I have those days. I try to stay busy when I am in a "funk" and don't allow myself the time to sit & think (over-analyze), or I would burst into tears over just about anything. I also find that cleaning during these times works wonders.
It definitely doesn't help that you aren't feeling well! Try taking a hot bath with candles and the works. I hope you feel better soon.

Sorry you are feeling down, like it's said before we all go through it. I tend to do the same thing and let my mind take over. In those moments, I try to pull myself back to the present and accept that I feel depressed, sick and not well alltogether. I take the feelings for what they are (just feelings and nothing more), knowing that they will not kill me and that I will be OK. It doesn't feel good for the moment but it will pass. When you mind really goes crazy, try focusing on your breath and pull yourself back to the present moment. Feeling crappy, like all the other myrriad of feelings, is what makes us human. It's OK, it's just a feeling.
Good luck and I hope you come out of your "funk" soon.

Sometimes if I really need a good cry. Well, that is what I do. Also, if I am feeling down I will look at websites that make me laugh. Something like funny animal videos. Right now it is hectic for everyone with the holidays just around the corner. Try and take sometime for yourself even if it is just to sit still to help clear your mind. You are human, and you can only do so much in a day.

Have you tried sitting in the sunshine with a cup of tea or coffee? Sometimes just the sun shining on you will warm you up and the fresh air will clear your mind. My Mom use to tell me this all the time. You only need a few minutes and drink something you really love, warm is better. Sometimes I will just sit in the sun & cry. It may get it out of your system.
Hope you feel better soon.Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.

I just hugged a pinetree.. OMG.. I'm a tree hugger!
I used to feel this way a lot, especially this time of year. I always thought that it was stress over the bills or the upcoming holidays etc.
Getting full sun (not filtered by a window) works wonders for me. But I have SAD (seasonal affected disorder) which I thought was a joke until I got diagnosed with it. Ask your doctor about it. Just knowing that there's something simple (it doesn't require drugs) that you can do is a wonderful thing.
If it gets really bad (the squirrel in my brain is starting to wear out the wheel it runs on) I'll go to a tanning booth for 5 minutes, and it actually works!

We have a virus here and there's nothing to take it out of you like being ill. Listen to your body. Sleep if you need it. You will feel better faster and be so much more efficient if you do. There is always more work. Please take care of your self. You don't want to have a weak immune system this year w/ H1N1. I slept in until 2:30 today and had my DH take my DD and DS in. Let others carry the load once in awhile.

We must have the same bug. I got some antibotics today, after waiting over an hour. I hate to wait, especially when you dont feel good. I believe part of my problem is I hardly ever let myself get down, I can't remember the last time I was sick from work. So that part of my head won't relax.
I'm a caregiver, so its almost impossible to take care of myself without guilt! I'm learning, so can you. If you don't feel good, you get depressed, etc. It's all part of being sick.
