Help my daughter with her assignment
My daughter is in Brownies. She missed the last meeting because she was sick. I got an email last night letting me know that the girls got an assignment to interview 5 women (different ages, ethnicity, cultures) to bring to their meeting on Tuesday night for the discussion. Since that isn't a lot of time I was hoping that the 'village' might be able to help us out.
She needs to know: What are the three most important issues facing women today?
If you can please include an age range, ethnicity, or cultural background. I would love to hear from different countries too!!
Thanks so much!!Amy

Id say our health- especially bone loss after u hit menopause and retirement.
fair wages for women men making more then woman for the same job- need more union jobs and pregnant women being laid off.

1. Juggling home and career even if it's having time for yourself as a SAHM
2. health issues: your own, hubby's, kids', govt. new health plan
3. financial issues with the changing economy here in America

~What are the three most important issues facing women today?
1. Over-sexualization of young girls and women
2. Equal pay for equal labor
3. Lapse in mentoring from previous generation leaves women ill equipped to cope with their lives and lead the next generation.

Equality in Healthcare... literally, most insurance covers viagra.. but not birth control??? The vast majority of heart and diabetic medications were tested on men for the studies...
Equality in the workplace... which spouse, 90% of the time, has to take a day off if the kid is sick, or the cable guy is coming? So which gender looks "less reliable" in the workforce? They use statistics like that to justify why women make less than men on average.
Continuing education for women. I feel that it's a lot more difficult for women to get ahead, and more importantly stay ahead in the work place because it's much more difficult for most women to take off for a week long conference, or juggle work, a family, and night school...
Many women choose to leave the work place for at least a year in order to raise babies, and when we re-enter the workplace we're already "behind", and there's little or no opportunity for a woman with a toddler to catch up her education or career skills unless she has access to an awful lot of money and a supportive family.
