Off to court
Well we are off to court, dealing with the Step daughter. Be glad when today is over.. Pray for us.

Good luck!
Wish I could remember what the court date was for...
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

It was great. decided to move out and still wanted us to pay for schooling ect she is 18 now, my husband only had guardianship of her.He bio mom left when she was 5 . so the judge said no court paid support will be granted, because my husband his not her biological father and that she needs to locate her real parents for help.My husband took care of her because no one else would. Now she hates him for it... So the emancipation order given.

Tragic - but at least the Judge did the right thing.
One doesn't know whether to hope that one day the girl wakes up to just how lucky she was to have your DH helping her, or not. On the one hand, if she ever realizes just how stupid she's being, she'll have a lot of remorse to deal with. On the other hand, if she never does, she has no hope of ever making it in life, IMO.If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

I agree she is a very book smart girl but no common sense. She hated the rules here. Which was to keep her grades up,take the trash out and clean her room. Grades were great,, she got in my face and my husbands face back in march and again in Oct. Said for us to F@@@ off and she hated us.She never wanted me has a mother and she hated him. She got her wish. We are no longer in her life. Maybe one day when she is done with college and grows up she will come to know that we did love her. When she mouths off to us the family says she is only exspressing herself. She is turning out to be very nasty.

Thats unfortunate that Your "Former Step Daughter" behaved so badly but you and your Husband did the right thing IMO. and I imagine you are feeling like a lead weight has been lifted from around your neck.
Hopefuly when she matures she will be able to come back and behave like a lady and realize how she hurt two people who loved her. That may take a while.......
Enjoy the quiet!Katie ~ Mummy of 2

So sorry to hear you and your husband had to deal and go through all of this. Hopefully one day she will see the light. Take care of yourselves. Now it is time for a new beginning.
Sending hugs your way.

Why did she need an emancipation judgment if she's 18?
~Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.~
