Default Over flu... trying to catch up..

We've been all over the H1N1 flu a couple of weeks ago. It was very serious with my diabetic daughter!

And now we are all trying to get caught up. With schoolwork, training, music etc... it has felt like an uphill battle for all of us.

Lots has happened too, including My eldest daughter being named one of 4 St. John Ambulance cadets to represent Canada,to go to New Zealand to an international youth leadership conference in January! All expense paid! Strawberry, where are you?????

And my Youngest daughter's celtic group has been invited to particpate in the Internaional youth arts festival in Aberdeen Scotland next August. I will need to go as chaperone (she has diabetes) and so we are fundraising like mad, and she is doing lots of busking and performing.

And son has been selected to perform in the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics... it is all hush hush and top secret. Lots of rehersals but he isn't allowed to tell anyone what he is doing!!

So Ifeel like the amazing juggling mom, trying to keep all the balls in the air!
And trying to stay with in budget to boot! But thanks to all the amazing things I have learned here, it is easier than it would have been otherwise!

Trying to catch up on reading a lot of threads, pretty hard to do...but enjoyable.

I will try and popin more.

Congrats with the kids first off. I have been dealing with the flu stuff also. It really pulls your immune down.

Glad to hear you and your family are feeling better now. And congratulations on the kids' accomplishments! Take it easy trying to get caught up - doing too much too soon you could end up running yourself down and getting sick again.

HollyHill - congrats on all that your children are accomplishing!! You must be soooooo proud!! Cannot wait to hear about your trip to Scotland - have always wanted to visit there!!

So glad that you are all on the mend. Sometimes you cannot catch up - just need to jump right in!!

Good luck with the fund raising - you will make it work!!

Glad to hear you are all better and back. I just got my H1N1 shot last week. It is picking up down here. Your kids must be fantastic to fight the flu and do all the extra's.

Be careful Fernykins and Nana, it is a nasty one. The kids had very high fevers and coughs that wouldn't go away. I still don't feel %100 yet.
My daughters violin teacher has been hospitalized because of it. So be careful.

I am proud of them and they are kids they bounce back so much easier than we do... wish I had their energy.

And Mauimagic we are very excited and I am glad I have all this time to raise funds. It is avey good deal once we are there the room and board is about $50 canadian a day, not much for Europe. So it is the cost of the flights that we have to fundraise for. But sometimes even the Queen attends the festival to watch the international performers! I will keep you posted as we know more.
