    Lightbulb What!!! Insurance rates

My job has posted the health insurance rates and I will be saving $70 a pay period since it is me and my daughters. HR said that they have found that the spouse usually costs more. So those with employee/children plan will be reduced.

I am going to apply that $140 savings to my debt!!
    Step 1 $207/1500
Step 2 Student loan $160.00 monthly
    Schewels paid
    Step 3 $252/$15000
    Step 4
Step 5 1 child in college graduates 12/12
    2 child $50.00
    Step 6 $70,761/$93,000
Step 7 Build wealth & give.

Are they saying MEN usually cost more, or "spouse"? I know it's women who get medical care and checkups more than men, maybe they are thinking it is the wives of their mostly male staff who cost them money.

Anyway, it is great you can get that discount.

My place of employment just enforced a "working spouse" rule. That if your spouse is employed and his employer offers insurance, the spouse must take it.

My medical/dental coverage is free...so I pay just for my kids. After I dropped the spouse...I had a savings of roughly $110. But he pays for his own at his job...and it's crappy insurance. This whole things just bums me out.

We upped our coverage too because it went down for our package. They switched companies for dental, medical and life. I was able to get $225,000 more worth of life ins. and ADand D for $100,000 for a small amt. more. DH travels alot so we thought this was great. Good deal for you.

That's great. Mine is going up about $35 per pay period. I provide insurance for my spouse and 2 kids. I noticed when I was job searching recently that insurance for just me and the girls would be pretty cheap, but for the whole family, it is quite expensive. I guess kids are just cheaper to insure than adults. Oh well, gotta do what I gotta do......LOL.

I work in a hospital. I know that in the Nursing dept there are more women than men. But as far as total employees, I am thinking more women than men. So.....maybe MEN are costing more. hahahaha!!
They just said that children didn't raise the costs like the spouse does.

    wow--that is great

men usually die before women.......but given "enough" market years that could easily change. women are assuming mans roles in society...and it will effect health issues definitely come the "long term" numbers.

anything "less" in the pockebook is great!!!!!!!!

cool. snowball the savings. I was wondering where should I apply this money. Well, I don't have my EF yet. So, I will start there. And to make sure, I am going to have the amount directly deposited into an acct so I don't know the difference
