    Default I am so exausted.

These past few days have been crazy. Between me just starting a job, thanksgiving, grocery shopping on black Friday. Ugh. My feet have never hurt so bad...

I have off tomorrow and Sunday though before I start training for cake decorating.

I had to get sneakers today and black pants for work. It was so depressing. I could not find ANY pants that would fit me under $25. DH said well we can check out the mall. NO THANKS. Not on black friday. It would save me what...$5?? That's $5 in gas right there.

Why do jobs make it so difficult to get the clothes they want you to wear???

Anyway---any suggestions on how to make my feet stop hurting? Its been 2 years since I have had to stand on them for 8 hours and they are just killing me...

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

Go to Salvation Army. They should have tons of black pants. Under $7. most likely.
As far as your feet. Takes time but also lay off the salt and drink water so they don't swell. Make sure you have comfortable well fitting shoes. Walmart sells culinary shoes and my DD says they are very comfortable. I think we paid $24.99.

Well--I just got new sneakers today so I won't be buying another pair for a while. Salvation army never has any clothes my size (20) so I don't even waste my time there.

    Thanks so much

I am a sz.18 down from a sz. 24 so you may want to check periodically. I have gotten tons of pants there. As far as shoes I never do used.

We have a Rescue Mission thrift store with lots of clothes. They had a 50 % off sale today, and I think maybe tomorrow , not sure. It sure was crowded today. I only went in for a few minutes to kill some time before going to my last stop. I was sorry I did...so many people. I did find a few treasures though.

I always found my black shoes in Walmart. I had to wear black pants and white blouses when I did food service work in a factory cafeteria. If you get a second pair of shoes, you can rotate them. That will help some.

You sound like you are in need of a nice hot bubble bath! Put those tootsies up and relax!

I know shopping can be frustrating. BUt congrats on the new job. If your new shoes are not supporting your feet enough, invest in some excellent insoles. (I like the Dr Scholls gel insoles.)

Yes, a second pair of shoes is recommended when you can afford it. Gives them time to "dry out". Congrats on the job too.

I was planning on buying a second pair of shoes after xmas. Good idea!!! There are a few thrift stores around here...they never have much. I can't stand being there for a few hours going through all the racks of pants to find 1 or 2 size 20's and they are junky or they are from like the 50's...(no offense). I use to go to Walmart to buy clothes but I have not bought any clothing in about 5 years and now I am plus size and Walmart SUCKS for plus size. It mades me SO mad.

I guess its just time to loose weight.

Do you have Fashion Bug in your area? They carry a lot of larger sizes, and they usually have a great clearance rack.

As for the feet... cold water will bring down any swelling or inflammation.

Good supportive (read that UGLY) shoes - when you can afford it try a good quality walking shoe like NewBalance (Kohl's often has them on sale) I'm a nurse and know all about the feet thing!
A really good extra is some cushiony socks, and to shake a little baby powder (not cornstarch, but talc) into your socks before you put them on.
You know, scrub pants come in black, it's the new 'hot' color for nurse (I own several pair) and scrubs are easily found in lots of styles in the plus sizes. Google scrub sellers online.
Best wishes in your new job!!!

I wish I could wear scrubs...but they make me wear nice dress pants. As for Fashion Bug...That is where I was today for an HOUR looking for plus size pants. Tons of my size but if they fit my belly they fit no where else and if they fit everywhere else they were to tight on the belly...I did find a pair there that are a bit tight but they will do, for $25. Cheapest pair I could find there...I swear.

Looks at a scrub catalog anyway. They make styles that look and fit like a dress pant now, not the drawstring thing (which I hate) Some you might look at are smartscrubs, tafford and uniformadvantage. (Wish I could send you all the catalogs I get in the mail weekly )

Huni I hear ya! Im a size 20/22 and I feel ya. As far as ur feet u need to soak them. I also was in the food service and ended up with major plantar warts. it was normal for me to have at least 5 on each foot at any givin time. Pay attention to ur feet.keep em dry and once u get home when u can soak em and rub em til u readjust ur body to the standing time. Cheer up! Ur body should adjust after a bit and they wont be so sore.
BTW I agree second hand stores never have our size. I guess some ppl who find em are lucky.I have found that the walmart faded glory fits amazing so when I find 1 of something i like I try to buy 2 in basic colors especially pants so I have em.
Best of luck with the job!!
