    Default Maggie Moo Cow

    So as many of you know, I was getting very sassy the remaining week or so of my pregnancy, due in large part, to the irritating and 'unproductive' contractions I was having every 5 minutes.

    Maggie was due on 11/24/2009, which came and went without any fanfare. I had a 9:45 appointment on 11/25 which did nothing but make me angry and worried because I had lost even more weight (lost about 10 lbs total in the third trimester) and Maggie's heartrate had dropped from her normal range of 145-155 down to 120. After all the fuss we had with Wesley, it just set me on edge. Plus, I was still only 3-4 cm dilated, which I had been for about 2 weeks.

    So Wesley and I spent the day finishing up laundry and making our side dishes for our Thanksgiving meal. He konked out at around 8:00. At 8:48, I had a painful contraction. At 9:09, I had another painful contraction. By around 11:30, they were less than 5 minutes apart, so DH called his mother to come over. We were trying to wait for her (she lives about 20 minutes away), but I decided that I couldn't wait any longer, so we got the neighbor to sit at our house with Wesley until the MIL got there.

    We get to the hospital in about 10 minutes, by the time we go to the maternity triage room, the contractions were about 3 minutes apart and I was in a LOT of pain. (Keep in mind, I was induced with Wesley so all my contractions were felt thru pain medication). At about 1:15 my water broke....and at 2:47 after 20 minutes of pushing, Maggie Anne was born!

    She was the first Thanksgiving baby at the hospital and weighed in at 7 lbs 3 oz, 19 inches. SHe is completely healthy and happy.

    Your labor sounds like mine. Intense but thankfully quick. I forgot to say she is adorable.

    Congratulations!!! Beautiful baby and glad both are ok. Definitely a day of giving thanks not to be forgotten.
