Congrats! This was us a few months ago. We had lived in the old house about 29 years and that was a lot of sorting and packing to do. We also used the internet as we shopped for houses in various areas. Our best to you!

Spent the evening looking at houses - think I've found one, too. It's a repo, vacant but is in really nice shape. There are stickers on all the plumbing indicating it's been winterized, freshly painted, carpet in good shape. DH and the teens will look at it tomorrow, and then a friend is going to inspect it for us and then we'll make an offer. My head is spinning (in a good way)

Is the house in a decent neighborhood that will keep its value and is safe? We look at a repo that was the nicest on the block, but everything else was going down hill. The house would have been a good value IF the neighborhood had not been deteriorating. As it was, the house would only lose value. And we saw some spray painting a couple blocks away, indicating that some gang activity was very close. We ran from that deal!!

Best wishes on a fast closing and easy as possible move. I know how stressful this process is.

Actually, it's in an almost new subdivision where more than a few of our friends already live. But good advice!
The only thing I don't like about the house is that it is all electric. I've been wanting to get back to a gas stove, but it's the ONLY thing I don't like!
