Science Fair project help needed!
My dd is doing a science project. She picked the topic "Where can fresh baked cookies be stored to stay fresh the longest". We are making the cookies today. We have baggies to keep them in. Do you think that we should store some in the fridge, some on the counter, and some in a dark closet? Any help would be appreciated! I'm so scientifically challenged...

Try different types of baggies: zipper seal, samich baggy with twist tie, metal cookie tin - think re-using butter cookie tin or a decorative tin, tupperware. Then do a twist on it - do up a 2nd batch and put one in the fridge and compare. You can try a 3rd for freezer and a 4th in the dark if you really wanted to.

putting a piece of bread will help keep the freshness of the cookies. Just make sure you have a control batch to start with. sounds like fun!

Are you putting them all in baggies as a control and then leaving them in different locations? I would think a cold place, hot place, bright place, dark place, damp place, dry place, etc. Then compare the opposites with each other.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Yes, it has to be a control batch. Same batch of cookies, located in different places. Have I ever mentioned that I hate baking cookies? LOL
Should have made the project be.... "How to keep daddy out of the cookies for the science project". LOL

May not be as cost effective as you'd like but what about buying the instant cookies? You know, open the package, slice and bake? This way it works with your dislike of baking? You can even buy the store brand to save more $.
