Giant SCORE!! On Baby Formula and Other Stuff
I had my best score ever!!

I just couldn't wait to tell you guys. I'm pretty proud of myself
So at my store (I work at The Real Canadian Superstore) we've had these coupons for $10 off Heinz formula which is regularly around $24. I stocked up on the coupons, even though when I worked it out the generic brand was still cheaper. Anyhew, this week the formula went on sale for $17. The coupons got taken down at the same time the sale started, luckily I had already stocked up (plus I knew where to find them anyway
)
So for $7, I can get a tin of $24 formula
I'm due in two weeks and I think it's safe to say I will never find a better price, so I decided to stock up! I am going to try to breastfeed ('cause it's free) but at least this way I can keep my options open in case it doesn't work out. I figure worst case scenario is that if my baby doesn't tolerate this particular brand, I'll have to exchange them (most likely at $24 too, since most places I know don't take the used manufactures' cupons off the return price). I'll probably end up donating some to the local food bank as well.
The other reason I want to stock up (besides the rediculously cheap price) is that when I am on maternaty leave, we are going to be REALLY hurting for $$$. Not having to buy formula would be a huge budget relief.
OK, so anyway that's not the best part. I also got more deals . . .
Here's what I got:
1 pair of pajamas (for the hospital) plus 3 clearance baby clothing items - reg $69 (but saved $10 with store coupon)
2 cases of 24 pack bottled water (I like to use the bottles to put in the freezer, I keep re-using the bottles for as long as I can before they get recycled) - $2 each - $4
6 boxes of crumble topping - reg 2.49 each - on clearance for .49 each - So about $3 (I know some of you out there could do better making your own from scratch, but I am no chef, so for me this was a good deal)
Then I bought laundry detergent and fabric softener (for baby clothes) - $10.78
And 11 tins of formula - $187 before coupons
Sooooooo this brings me up to about $273 . . . . THEN
I got a $25 store gift card for spending over $250
I get and employee discount so that's %10 off - Saved $26
Plus I had a $10 off Clothing Coupon
PLUS my 11 formula coupons for $110
So at the end of the day my $273 order came to $108!!!
On top of it all I had a $25 gift card from my baby shower, so I used that towards the purchase.
I am so excited. I am going back for more formula tomorrow. Probably enough to get another $25 gift card. I almost felt like I was stealing, I had to ask the front end manager more than once if it was OK. LOL.
