Arghh!! My Oven :(
So I go down to turn the potatoes over and when I stick my hand in the oven it seems way cooler than 350. Turned out that at some point in the middle of cooking the oven had died.
At first I thought the bottom element was out, but I turned it on again after it cooled off and discovered neither element was working. There are no fuses, there is a reset button but it didn't do anything.
All the elements on the range work but the oven won't come on at all. It's two years old - out of warranty of course, but hardly old.
Any ideas? Could it be something simple (ie. cheap) that i've just missed, or is this going to cost me a bundle in repair bills and/or another new stove?
I'm feeling a bit cranky now.

My oven has been broken for about a month (eek I know....I've just been delaying calling the landlord until I have a day off). Ours seems to have a similar issue to yours. When I turn on the dial, no oven temperature light comes on, and the elements do not turn on. When I tried to look it up online to see what could be wrong with it, The most likely thing I found was that the thermometer on the oven has broken. When I turn on the temperature dial, because the thermometer is broken, my oven thinks its at the right temp and never actually turns on the elements.
I have no idea how to actually fix this, its just the conclusion I came to after much googling...although I am by no means an appliance repair person, so could be completely wrong
I guess I'll find out when I finally have time to call the landlord to fix it. Although I guess I've been saving a ton of energy by not using it these past weeks.

Mine is making the usual little random clicking noises that it usually makes when it's heating up. So it definitely thinks it's doing something. It's a digital display so there's no light that indicates if it's up to tempertaure or not.
Unfortunately I can't put it off too long - there's a turkey that needs to go in there in about 25 days.

Wonder if it isn't just the 'thermometer' - if that is what they call it. It is the 'little probe' thing that tells the oven how/when to operate.
Mine did this a few years ago - replaced that and it has been running fine ever since - knock on wood........it is OLD!!
My oven is older or I would describe where it is at.....but it looks like a tiny thermometer up on top/inside somewhere.........not expensive part but not sure about a service call. Any chance you can do it yourself? If you can get it out - take it in with you and get a new one.
Good luck.........

If it is digital, it could be faulty electronics. We had to replace the whole digital assembly in ours. Thankfully we learned it was a lemon and it was replaced at their expense. I did have to laugh when I called the repairman. I explained what happened and he said "you live in the X development don't you?". I said, "uhm, yes". He said "I'm not even making the trip out to your house, I've been to all your neighbors. You will just see me when the part comes in." I was thankful and it was a good giggle.

Search the internet with your make and model and see if this is a common problem.

I'm having probs with my oven too. It used to be on for a while and would just start beeping and flashing F9. Last week it did it again. I turned it off for a little while like I normally do, but this time it never turned back on. I haven't gotten hold of the landlord yet because of the holiday weekend. The burners work and the broiler works (at the top of the stove).
I am thinking it's either not getting the notification from the dial that it needs to turn on or there is a clog.

a quick try to fix would be to hit the breaker or unplug the whole thing and wait 30 seconds and then plug in/throw breaker back...
we just went thru this with an oven last week...since i know nothing about appliance repair i have to call in the troops on this one....that was the repairmans first suggestion on the phone before a trip out.... didn't work....might try it for yourself though...he says that sometimes just 're-setting' the thing works....
guy came out...problem turned out to be that the knob was put on wrong (the temp knob for oven) when tenant cleaned and although it was being 'turned' it was not catching and actually moving.....so check your knob to make sure it is actually 'setting' the temp....one thing you can do is take the knob off and turn with a pair of pliers and see what happens.....
other than that...jump on the manufacturers web-site...call the customer service number and ask for tech support and have them try to help talk you thru it....its worth a shot anyway.....
good luck....i hope you get it going with not a penny from your pocket.....

IF it is something expensive and you cannot afford to fix it right now, an alternative is an 18 quart roaster oven (like a Nesco) your church may have one you can borrow - but you can find them on sale for $30 right now. I do my turkey in mine all the time. I'd loan you mine if you lived in Indiana!!

When I had a similar problem it was the elements - when one burned out the other overcompensated and I lost both. They are not too expensive - $10-20 each and plug right in - so easy even I could do it!
It's worth a try - if it doesn't work I think you can take the elements back for a refund.
Good luck - it is horrible being without an oven!

I found and removed the temperature probe. It seems the easiest place to start. I'll take it to the store and try to find one that matches.
If not, I'll try the elements. Then the repairman.
It's been unplugged, fuse isn't blown as the rest of it works. The reset button on the stove didn't help.
There aren't any knobs. I've actually done that before with our old stove, the knobs were always slipping.
Where do I look for probes and elements? Would home depot have them?
